Well that's a blow, wonder why? Wouldn't be happy if I were JSC , surely they had a contract and paid for those rights!
Hopefully JSC now return all their channels to 13e considering their is no reason to be of that bird now.

The big difference I see between Europe and Australia is the population.
More hackers over here and spread across Europe.
Love them or hate them, pay servers. Lucrative business for the big players, IPTV isn't as lucrative because of bandwidth speeds, they won't want to give up that easily on revenue!
Box manufacturers, lets face it most boxes sold today is for people to use for cs, if Europe goes down only a small percentage will still buy for day to day use but most people will head to official receivers or not bother at all. Can't see those manufacturers happy to loose Australia and now Europe!
And even today, Microsoft and Sony haven't been able to stop hackers exploiting the PS3 and Xbox 360, even IOS7 is set to be cracked soon!
So in hackers I trust! Lol

Well if it is the same Algorithm Encryption as foxtel introduced in Australia then its safe to say SD will go next.
But as others have said, Who knows!

just to clarify the situation: the problem with almost every hd channels in sly it, IS NOT the new codec. the codec is still the "old" one, the problem is a PAIRING between card and reciever. only official reciever can open that channel cause of new algorithm
Read today that it is the same encyption system that knocked Foxtel dead in Australia, any truth in that?

Sly Italia? yep happening to everyone, something to do with a change in broadcast, Mpeg 4. Write up about it a few pages back.
This thread is about the rte issues so if your asking about sly italia you should probably start a new thread.
I started the thread, it was about *** italia !, but seeing as Sly UK have been changing things it can be about both! lol

Looking a little closer it looks like its gone from the average user and into the hands of cardsharing. Again not sure how much truth is in it.

Seen on a few sites that Ive been reading that measures for Foxtel in Australia have been cracked and its been busted wide open again.
Not sure how true this is but if it is then it surely is fantastic news, just hope we dont have to wait 3 years for a fix!

So are we saying a fix could be found if this new Ntt data broadcast is figured out? Sounds to me that the hardware of our boxes needs upgrading to decrypt the new broadcast standard?

I remember a few years ago there was a story about some guys who completely hacked sly, no CS or anything just a complete decrypt of the channels on a sly box. The story went that sly panicked and paid them off with a promise never to release how to do it.
Not sure how true that is but its what I heard.

Personally I thought Sly UK would be the first to go, didn't think the Italian version would be first, was going to get a sub when the UK lot went!
I know it's early days but does anyone think the new system will be cracked?

Reading around the net tonight and it appears the end has arrived.
People are claiming various channels across different sats and platforms are now being restricted with only the official receiver working with their card.
So far Ive read that both 23e and 13e are being hit.
