  • DVB-T driver training in the Dreambox Receivers

    Another method is very easy to use plug-in DVB-T tuner driver is usbtuner.
    This plugins is made of the Gemini site.


    Simply download and install the following plugins-tuner connected to your receiver and plugins run, After a few seconds, plugins, does not recognize tuner and tuner drivers from the Internet to download and install, just after the installation, restart the receiver.

    The above will automagically install and setup the usbtuner and it's scripts. If your tuner is recognized/supported it will be found and it's module/driver name will be put to the config file (/etc/usbtuner.conf).


    At this stage, assuming that your usb connected device has been recognized it should be in the config file but will not yet work. This is due to the fact that you probably don't have it's drivers installed. The package doesn't provide them anymore so you have to download them.
    Thankfully there is a /usr/script/usbtnrsetup.sh script and a GUI frontend for it which will help you download either just the required or all dvb drivers.
    BIG thanks to helour who contributed lists of modules and device USBIDS for automatic installation of only required modules rather than all of them.
    So if you're lucky enough to have a device that it's module set is known to this script, when you choose to download drivers using the GUI plugin or run (from the shell):

    /usr/script/usbtnrsetup.sh download_drivers


    it will download only the drivers that are needed for your device, otherwise you can:

    /usr/script/usbtnrsetup.sh download_drivers all


    and the script will download ALL v4l drivers available in your image's ipkg repo. Please bear in mind that your device's driver may not be available there and I cannot help here. Thankfully some users will be able to provide them in this or other threads.
    Please be aware of the fact that most of the drivers downloaded and installed automatically will require firmware file present in /lib/firmware and they ARE NOT in opkg repositories. But don't worry I've attached ipk with all firmware files I had access to so install it before installing usbtuner and all should be fine.



    By now you probably wonder what other switches does the script support - worry no more. You can do:

    /usr/script/usbtnrsetup.sh help


    which will show u a brief help message explaining the usage of it and available switches.

  • DVB-T driver training in the Dreambox Receivers

    The most convenient way possible driver for DVB-T receiver Dreambox, EDG Nemesis image is used.


    If you use this image, DVB-T tuner, simply plug into your receiver, then press the blue button and then press the red button. Then select the last option.

    Press the green button and wait until the tuner is detected and the driver from the repository to download and install Nemesis.
    I'm using the AF9035 chip.

  • PIP launched in Dreambox

    Hi
    Finally I found my way on all the Enigma 2 Dreambox can use Picture In Picture or the so-called PIP.


    But the interesting advantages of this method:


    - In this way can be of different frequencies and channels to PIP. (Ie no need to be on a frequency channels that are not PIP)


    - PIP channel can be made simultaneously to infinity and there are no restrictions on the number of channels.


    - Hong Kong or any slowdown in this method can not be seen.


    - Can be multiple simultaneous network HD and SD to multiple networks simultaneously in PIP. (There are no restrictions on the type of channel)


    It got my plugin from the receiver:




    But it works:


    First, the mosaic plugin attachment download and install on your receiver. (After you install the decoder Restart GUI)


    I've tested this plugin in just GP3 image, so the training based on this image to explain.


    Press the blue button to enter the Blue Panel implemented plugin for the image, then the Menu button again and hit the blue button (Setup) button.
    The first option, and select the Add Plugin mosaic Press the OK button on the plugin.


    Now plugin your image is placed in the Blue Panel:



    Now it's the channel that you want PIP, you must put in Favourites. (You can use the program DreamSet)
