It all depends on the reshare level he has on those shares...

10 hop1 means he is getting 10 locals on share...

A local card when shared goes to hop1...

If he shared his hop1 to you they would be hop2 on your server...

And the same his hop2 would show as hop3 on your server..

You'd be better off putting them all on one dish m8...

For the 3 degree spacings you'll need special lnb's like these:

and a holder like this:

Get a good switch them, make it water tight and you'll be grand...

the x means the amount of hop1, hop2, hop3 they have to share mate..

Pretty simple...

the lower the hop, i.e. hop1 or hop2 the better the viewing quality...

Not too sure about iMac tbh..

If there's an FTP program like Filezilla available then you can control it..

Make sure your ftp port 21 is open...

And your web info port to be able to monitor it!

The line you sent me has never been active..

Although putting the cline you sent me in your own cfg along with the fline is probably the problem!

Log in..

Check your services..

And make sure that beside your dns the active box is ticked..

Try downloading the dns updater client!

Might work better!

And make sure your port is active by using Open Port Check Tool....

The above links are very clear and helpful (gracias), and if anyone new on the forum is in a similar position to me and wants to know any specific details on what I did (in conjunction with the excellent guides) from a newbie's perspective (i.e., me) then please don't hesitate to ask - cheers.

Of course having set things up as I think they should be, I still haven't actually proven anything meaningful yet, or at least I don't think so lol.

Right have you downloaded the dyndns updater on your laptop and filled in your dns details?

Or put your dns details in your router??

Uses one for his Spiderbox..

Never heard any complaints about it..
