Windows 8 is fine.

An update guys, and good news.
One of the capacitors had a bit of a bulging head. Changed that and it boots up fine now.
Here's a pic of the offending capacitor circled in red.
Hope this helps someone else out who happens to have the same problem.

run the noCAerror tool set as ssl84b worth trying m8
if successful then put into flash mode & flash the image of your choice?
Optiflasher is another great tool to fix this..also try another PSU if u can?
good luck
I tried that with NCF-SIM2-2.5
Will try it again with the version in the tool box.
I've already tried different PSU's.
Not sure how to use Optiflasher. Do you have to put your own bootloaders in the folder directory? The only ones in there were numbered ssl 1-24. (I'll see if I can find a tut for it).
Won't try anything again tonight, my heads done in and the wife has got Home Land ready for us to watch. :)
I'll keep you's posted, however it turns out.
And thanks again to everyone trying to help. :thumb:

Cheers mate.
Can't find anything in there though to help me :(
Think I'll try to find somewhere to send it to, see if it can be repaired. I can't think of anything other than a hardware issue, something must have gone when it got unplugged from the mains.
Thanks for the help guys.

Pinched from another site:
"Few likely cause i had personally experienced:
1) Try unplug the 12V power pin and wait for 5mins to replug, sometimes it work when onboard capacitor discharged, but most of the time, the ac/dc 12V adapter is faulty.
2) The image corrupted, just reflash.
3) Something prohibit the startup to continue, likely a device failed, perhaps tuner module not sitted properly, and failed to initialize, or HDD, or thumbdrive plug-in."
Also try the thread here http://linuxsat-support.com/showthread.php?t=33375
Tried all those, the box actually went a few weeks ago and I thought I'd give it another go today.
Remove any USB or HDD you have added m8 & try flashing again !!
If no joy try noCAerror repair tool in satdreamgr toolboxWhat is the "DreamtroolboxGR"? I saw you post about it in another thread but can't find it.

Good evening Ladies and Gents,
My DM800 decided it wanted to enter a continuous boot loop after it was unplugged directly from the mains.
I've tried everything I can think of, from flashing new images and bootloaders.
It never gets any errors and says flashing complete, via network/browser and also DreamUp.
That last thing of the screen before it switches itself off and reboots is "flash/vmlinux.gz"
Does anyone have any ideas on anything else I can try?
Or someone or a company that could repair it?
Thanks in advance for all and any replies.

Access all your setting and Admin tool etc in one place.
Tried this on my Windows 7 and works great.
GodMode:
Create a folder and name it:QuoteGodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
Done.

I agree by and large, just thought I'd throw the idea in there.

I noticed that some members have been ripped off by another member.
Could the Admin open a paypal account for members to pay in to when buying something.
Once the funds are sent and the seller notified, they can then send the item(s), and when both parties are happy and items received, the payment is then forwarded to the seller?
May sound like a bit of added work, but it would keep the forum and it's members trustworthy.

You tried using web browser?

Cant get my head around these, what is the point in them?
They're for people who may be less technically minded than some. :D
But, if the driver's are pre installed for the accessories, that can only be a good thing.
When I first tried Raspbmc, wi-pi didn't work, so had to run some scripts and install drivers manually. It was a pain in the arse.
For anyone interested, here's the Wi-Pi driver:
-
Now on sale at Farnell.
After having a look at them, it seems it's based on Raspbmc, but should have the drivers pre installed for WI-PI etc.

theres reports of this working perfectly on an amiko alien2 running enigma2 images
myself and rogerthis created this, and im sure that better coders will now take the script and improve it (ViX team have already confirmed this)
but for a first beta release, i have tested it on a TM-TWIN and a TM-2T, and it works perfectly, press the eXIT button instead of stop to return back to the iPlayer listings instead of the movie menu
this leads the way for future iPlayer development on enigma2
It's much appreciated man, IMO it will be one of the best plugins made to date.

Anyone got this working on a DM800 clone? And if so, what image are you using?
Cheers

Works fine up until it comes to playing anything. Lets me choose a program but then just seems to not play :D

I've never used N-lines before. How do you restrict/disable sharing from the server side?
EDIT: Looked around, and it doesn't look like re-shares can be disabled using NewCamd.
