hi all,
i have decided to experiment with a 3rd dish, and attach it half way up my shed. it is a technomate 80cm (i think from memory) which i had spare, so i have got the pole on a T&K bracket, and all is plumb straight. my problem is getting the thing lined up properly, i have a sat link meter which has always come in handy when i have done motor setups, but i do not know where i am going wrong lol
as from the picture attached, i want to know if i am just wasting my time, as i am only about 3-5Metres away from house, so not sure how much line of sight is needed??? - the reason i mention this, as i have seen s l y dishes on a roof and it looks like their line of sight is about 1 metre away from the roof.
i have also tried moving my motor dish to 13 and then trying to point it in the same direction, but just guessing at elevation, because i am lower down, but still nothing…
so hopefully somebody could tell me if it is worth keep trying, and line of sight shouldn't be an issue, or just down tools and get a professional in lol

i am south west area, but i have put the older sly dishes up, which i think is the 60cm, its definatley not the 40cm dish.
when the wife goes out shopping again, that will give me enough time to have a play lol
i have already got that lnb holder, a spare inverto ultra black lnb & a diseqc switch, just need the balls to potentially break what is already perfect lol
i have always wanted to know if i could do it - and seeing your pic has given me confidence to give it a go, thanks Inspiral, i will report back in a couple of weeks, as thats the next free time i will be able to give it a go

from reading your pic & your post, is this picture of your dish pointing at 28.2east and then the other lnb's are at 13east, 19east?
basically i have the same dish and its pointing at 28.2east, if i fit that lnb holder on the end, can i get 13east and 19east? if this is possible, i would also need to juggle the octo lnb currently pointing at 28east as the octo lnb's could be too fat

sorry to hijack this - i started to have a play with the streams you put up. I have installed simpletv from your instructions and loaded the calcio channel list you put up & i got a picture, so i was very pleased with myself lol
i then decided to try and figure out how to try and get these streams on my duo, but this is where i have hit the brick wall. i have installed the IPTV List Updater and can see lots of countries and installed various into bouquets list, but it doesn't seem to be the same streams that i earlier tested in simpletv.
is simpletv and its streams on available through a computer?

hi - i am no means an expert, but i have installed 5 motor setups. it does sound very much like you are not on the arc. if you are able to get to your dish, are you able to gently push the dish upwards (maybe with a brush) and then get a friend to look at the sat finder page on your receiver , whilst you are holding the dish upwards to see if the signal goes up or down from your 48%. i remember i had a similar issue, where i could get 28.2east 19.2east, 16east, but i couldn't get 13east - which i thought was strange, but after playing with these for a few years now, you know that just a little not right and you will get some weird things happen. also if your dish is on a pole, make sure that it is plumb straight, i never realised how important this is, but have learnt the hard way lol
Over the last year I have seemed to stick with vix & have the sly skin, also with the solo I would recommend using a swap file, seems to be rock solid. Before vix I had BH for a year or so, but don't think I will leave vix now. I would say try them all and see which you prefer

i have a similar issue with my Canal+ spanish official sub and box, i have stopped looking into N3 & JTAG and just put up with using their crappy box and using video senders to different TV's / or sometimes even disconnect and reconnect box to the TV's….very annoying, but hopefully in time it will be easy to extract, until then i would give up looking lol

i have had this problem over the past week, i have been just powering it off and on with the rocker switch, but its finally given up the ghost. i have reserved the capacitor at marlins and will pick it up tomorrow and give it a go and report back.

hi all - sorry if I'm going to sound dumb lol
my server has oscam & cccam, peers connect to cccam, then that connects to oscam for the card. i have another server that has a different card, but at the minute, both servers use cccam to share each others cards.
could i add the above theory of alice, and bob. then delete the config currently setup for cccam to talk between the servers. is it possible to replace the cline between both servers to then use the above config. my guess is that because i am using cccam, and thats the port thats open, it won't work?
