Hi all Well got myself a shiny new 80cm dish and 2600 motor from sponsors. Just like to say here what great service form WOS ordered Tues del Weds within a 1 hour time slot, also price very competitive. Anyway I have been trying all morning to set it up and cannot find any signal. I have set the motor angle up to my latitude 53 which is about 37 deg. Set dish to 22.4 elevation. These are quoted in manual that came with motor. I have tried 1W 13E 19.2 E and 28.2 E and cannot find a glimmer of a signal on any of them. I have also tried lifting dish elevation slightly. I have mainly used my VU solo2 but have also tried my freesat receiver on 28e with a tv outside in view of dish. I am now at a bit of a loss what to do next so any further advice most welcome. Maybe I am missing something obvious. Also I have checked all leads and connections.

Not managed to sort this yet. Have come to the conclusion that the motor is faulty. Can't get it to move at all so am going to bite the bullet and get a new motor and dish from sponsor. I think motor is about twelve years old so been good value. I will report back how I get on. Once again thanks for help and advice on this.

thanks for your replies. Not managed to do it yet but I am changing the location as I think it may be a bit low down. Will try on 19.2 east. I have looked at some Android apps but without success. One thing I have noticed is the variety of settings offered by different sites and apps which is a bit confusing. Not to worry . I am sure I'll get there. Definitely a learning curve

hi guys I am trying to reinstall my dish after removing from roof ( getting too old ). I have a 1mtr dish with a Technomate 2100 motor which is a few years old now. What I have done.

Mounted the dish low down but with a good line of sight. My house is slightly SE facing with open fields behind.

Made sure pole is vertical both ways

Set motor angle to my latitude 53 deg.

I have not changed the dish angle as it was working before

Have reset the motor so the drive pole is centre

Made sure motor pole and dish is are all lined up square

Aimed dish at 0.8w according to Sigsat192 deg magnetic reading.

Having done this I cannot find a signal. Any help and advice much appreciated. I do not have a meter. Do I need to get one and if so what would be suitable.

Also I am thinking of getting a new motor, maybe 2600 and a smaller dish. I tend to mainly use 28e 13e and 19e and occasionaly 1w, so would a 65/70cm be big enough?

Hi how do I remove above from Open ATV 6.0 please. Put on by mistake. Have now got one from plugin downloads which I prefer. Or can I just leave it and use the other one.

I am sure this question willl have been asked before, but is there any reason why I cannot FF any faster than 8speed. Over that it just freezes.I know that it did used to work up to 128x but I have had this prob for a while now. Not a major problem but would be nice to solve it. I am running latest Vix on Solo2. Don't think it's an image problem as I had the same on Open BH.

Just installed latest Vix and using Vixbmc 1080 skin. All is working well except for installation of cams. I have installed both Oscam and cccam and they are showing under softcam manager, but when I look for the config files ( cccam in etc and oscam in etc/tuxbox)nothing is there. I have tried via plugin download/linuxsat panel and via IPK files. Any ideas

still not managed to get this working. I have read about it until crosseyed. Had a look at logfile. It seems to be running ok but not clearing. This is the top line of the log. Don't know if it's relevant

Can you access oscam webinfo ? This would tell you if it is at least running.

many thanks for all your advice. Unfortunately I can still not get it working. Here's what I have done. Downloaded this oscam ipk 11226 and installed via DCC ftp. Is this the right cam I wonder? It is now showing in the cams and I have found it in etc/tuxbox/config. I have used a cccam converter which has given me an Oscam Server file. I have opened up the config in Tuxbox which then gives me a list of files including config/server /user. I have transferred the file into the server as that seems to be the only one that will accept it. I have the feeling that this is where I am wrong, but not sure exactly how. As a slight aside I am finding the DCC programme keeps freezing up etc. Is there a better way of doing it?? Again thanks for your patience and help with this. I'm sure that the solution is simple
