my initial route would be to go for a rasp Pi 2. This can be set up for about £50 ( less if you have cables and flash drives about). A powerful little receiver. Doesn't need to be turned off. Costs about £5 a year to run. Small and easy to hide. Mine is velcroed to back of tv. Would not bother with the boxes you see advertised ''Fully Loaded '' on a certain site. Very easy to do yourself

I have tried an air mouse, but I don't find them very good. I don't think that the Kodi software is very suited to it. I use an app on my Hudl tablet called '' Yatse''. It is free and works with both my M8 box and Raspberry Pi. Also got on my phone. May not be what you want but worth a look before buying airmouse

Hi ,
looking for a new box just for use in kitchen. Single tuner only required. Box needs to be quite small to fit in available space. Was looking at Vu zero but can't see any dimensions. The box I am replacing was only freesat, but thought I may as well go for one with enigma on although not necessary. Any suggestions welcomeregards

I've got it on Hudl2. Works fine and at £99 good value

Hi,
I have got a 9000 in full working order.regards

It all depends what you want to do. For my purposes I find the Raspberry Pi and the M8 more than adequate. But I use mine in conjunction with a sat receiver so my needs are slightly different. As I say I am no expert, but the wetek Play gets good feedback but I think still a work in progress. The M8 is not bad. Has quad core processor so can run 1080p comfortably. They say it is compatible with 4k but I can't confirm that. I would definitely have a good look around google and check out some forums. I could give you a link to one I use but not sure if that's allowed on here. I'm sure someone else on here will also be giving you some got advice
best regards

Sam,
I am no expert but I think one of the options would be xbmc, which is accessed through internet. No dish required. If you look on the forum you will see that a lot of people are using the Wetek play which seems to be a good alternative at a reasonable price. About £100 I think. There are other alternatives ie Android boxes which are freely available on a certain auction site. If you do a google for Android TV boxes you will find a great variety. I have an M8 box and also a Raspberry Pi, which you can set up for about £50. If you do investigate that route I would suggest having a look on some xbmc forums for more specific advice and ideas.regards

Yeh I'm basically looking for something that will run kodi/xbmc alongside satellite. Will the solo 2 run kodi/xbmc? I remember reading that it was coming to the newer boxes but can't find any videos of it running.
the solo 2 is a terrific box with lots of support. As stated it does run xbmc but to be honest, for me I would suggest a separate box for xbmc to get the best experience. I have a raspberry Pi 2 quad core running openelec, which can be setup for under £50. Its a very small unit and runs beautifully. I have mine fastened to the back of the telly out of sight. Of course it all depends on your budget

Hi Iain
was thinking in the region of £95. The stands alone are about £90 a pairregards

this box is certainly shaking things up a bit. I currently have solo2 which is a terrific box, and have just entered the world of xbmc by buying an android box, but wish I'd have known about the Wetek play as it seems more versatile

Dixiedean,

Hi
not sure where to post this or even if I should so please delete if not acceptable. Have come across this receiver which seems interesting****://qviart.com/en
Wondered if anyone had any thoughts about it. Not sure about operating system, but looks likely to be closed source,
but I thought the combination was interesting.Obviously this is not stocked by sponsor so as I say please delete if wrong

Hi Guys
not sold on fleabay. People on there seem to want it for nothing and I am not prepared to give it away. Having said that maybe my initial price is too high, so if anyone is interested in making a sensible offer I would be glad to consider it. Alao may be willing to split system if anyone is interestedregards

not used this site for a long time. Thought I would try as an alternative to Amazon . Bought phone case for wifes new phone, but ordered wrong one. Tried to contact site via email to customer services. What a joke. Just get automated response saying they will be in touch within 24hours. That was 2 weeks and several emails ago and still not heard anything. Not a lot of money involved so no big deal, but if you are thinking of using them beware
