Try an oscam from here:
Don't think it can run cccam (arm processor)
Give oscam or ncam a go.
Is it a hd receiver you have?
If so, you'll need to get it paired to an old sd receiver (scart out, no hdmi on receiver)
if it's a red card it normally doesn't "lock" the card.
If it's a white card that's inserted into a HD official receiver, then it may pair ("lock") the card, as far as I'm aware.
Try sticking your card back in original receiver overnight.
I had to do this once and got "wrong card for this box" on screen.
Left it overnight and all came back working.
You could also give oscam a go, have a look here:
OSCam 11392 IPK For OE2.0 Mips Based Receivers Various Images
If you can disconnect your hdd and plug it into a computer, this tool should format it to ext3 for you:

Reconnect it to your receiver and hopefully it will mount.
Is re-share enabled on his side?
It would need to be for it to work through your server to a receiver (extra hop etc.)
By default an OpenPLi image has no password as far as I'm aware
I'm sure if your friend had issue with double logins, he'd have let you know by now.
It's just settings in oscam which can be enabled / disabled.
You could just ask your friend though, to make sure.
I think it's just a skin on the modern version. All settings/ tweaks are still there.
You can download it from the feeds.
Menu-plugins-green button to download.
Various cams in softcam section to choose from.
Here's one for you to try:
Did you look here?
If it's AFN your planning to watch, read here:
I have a spare one if your unsuccessful.
I suppose if you want to experiment with as much images / plugins that are available, then vu is probably up there among the best but saying that, you do pay a hefty price.
I have set up a few zgemma receivers for family and friends and couldn't fault any of them.
If I was in the market for a new receiver, I'd seriously consider a zgemma or various other makes/models but if my budget could stretch for a new vu, then that's what I'd go for.
If, however, it was for a family member / friend, with the only object was viewing tv and no tinkering then it's an open playing field really.
Horses for courses.
This is an old update now, first posted about 19 months ago.
