I have read somewhere that maybe the problem is that the new mac you are entering might not be valid. So if you try again, change the last four letters of the mac randomly. It worked for me on the first try.

Ok lets take it step by step.
Remove one of two receivers. One shouldnt be online while doing this.
Download the attached file I have uploaded here.
Your vu is flashed and working now.
Open flashfxp on pc, connect to vu and double click on etc, double click on network, double click on if-pre-up-d. Transfer the file I have uploaded there.
Now right click on the file and choose edit (if it asks chose notepad). Change the numbers of the mac address on the file with the same as yours, just change last 4 numbers. If its D1:76 turn it to D3:72
Press file on notepad and save, NOT save as.
Now again right click on the file itself and chose change attributes. Change the numbers to 755.
    Now reboot vu.
    Please reply if it worked.

uploading now. unrar it. you wil find a file.

Sorry. For the second question. I have downloaded flashfxp, found my vu ip address, logged in, and went to network pre-up. Its in etc/network. Open the folder network pre-up and put the file there. To change attributes, after you put the file in pre-up folder, right click and change attributes.

Hello. I have opened a file in notepad and named it "ma" with the quotes. In that way it will be saved as a file and not as a notepad file. Find your mac address with the program uploaded on page 1 here, and after the ether word on the third line posted above, write the exact mac of one of your boxes and change the last 4 digits.

I Have asked people to sell/give me test c lines to test.
Some peoples lines start with C: name server port user pass
some others lines start with C: 215.154...... port user pass
The people with the numbers probably are scammers or is it a different type of server?
(if my question does not belong here, please delete it)
Is there a way to share my card to another receiver at home, or do I have to have hop rights?

    I have succeeded!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here s the deal. I have opened both boxes, and checked. No1 box is original, No2 box clone, both same mac address.
I created a file and put it in network pre-up. Here is what is in file.
    #!/bin/sh
    ifconfig eth0 down
    ifconfig eth0 hw ether 00:1D:EC:02:55:19
    #ifconfig eth0 up
    #touch /tmp

    Changed attributes to 755
    Rebooted.
Hopefully someone else will find it helpful.
THANKS to the moderators of the site for their time. (I dont know whats different in this file compared to those I tried before, but it worked)

The seller claimed they are not. I am from Cyprus and unfortunately reporting anyone here, is not worth trouble or time spent.
I told him to return one to buy sth else, but he said no.
My only solution is asking for your help, maybe to try and fix the issue. If not, I will have to try to sell one (and lose money).

Yes. The nameserver has my routers configuration (213.140....), I tried 192.168.0.1, tried my neighbours ip, nothing happened.
There is no image that has options to change mac address manually so that I can flash it?
Is the mac address stated in any file on the receiver that I can manually change it (like var/network..) ?

I am sure its not an ip conflict. I have done these steps, dhcp is off and I assigned different ip addresses. Now I am flashing again because in settings/ network , the box called Link is unticked, stating I dont have internet on the box. I can not tick it, so no internet connection. In adapter settings I have Ip address N/A, Netmask N/A, Gaeway N/A.
If I dhcp off and assigne these I get ip unconfirmed again and no internet access.
Following the advice of lfc 4ever, did not change my mac

Now I have one box, fully working with openpli, the other is just flashed and working with openpli, but both with same mac, both working if connected by them selves.
I remove the one from plug.
I go to the second one to change the mac.
I enter in /etc/network/interfaces hwaddress ether -my mac address with changed 4 last digits-
    Reboot.
    Thats it? Thanks everyone again.....
