just download this file, unzip and using FTP, place in the /lib folder on image - overwrite when prompted, and ensure attributes are 755
I think the directory structure might be wrong in the IPK for this image.

I had one of these - and unless anything has changed - the only software/firmware was for the single reader - the smargo. The smargo tool does not work for this reader as far as I am aware.
Just realised that he has a PC server - link for waking cards with dvbapi is for if the card is being read and the server is hosted on the receiver, not a PC server.
I tried watching that myself but was finding it hard to concentrate on what she was saying - she was holding the receiver and remote rather close to her cleavage area lol - was that wrong to say? well i said it!!! :83:
edit - was only joking - it was a very good review....
on the ultimo when you are going MENU - Information - Devices - is it showing as a tuner? Have you tried another USB slot? And might sound silly question if you have, but I take it you installed the relevant driver from the drivers list on the plugin feeds?
Will close the thread rather than delete it - but once again I keep having to remind people of the rules - using a test line is supporting a payserver. Don't expect any support at all if you are using a payserver. Try doing a bit more reading.
QuoteI have 3 lines from 2 providers
you are clearly using payservers - please read the rules
Quote<13> If you are the supporter of a Pay Server DO NOT ask for support, your request will be ignored.
thread closed.
try this - in the Duo - where it does work, locate the file /var/tuxbox/terrestrial.xml - copy this file, and then paste it to /var/tuxbox in your ultimo, then reboot, and see if the scan works
Not sure it will work but I am wondering if there is any issues with the terrestrial.xml file in the ultimo causing this, because from what you say the tuner is recognised but it isn't picking up anything.
(moved thread out of VIP section to the right category - for better chance of a solution)
Just be aware that sometimes it can be a bit hit and miss when getting a HDD that works with certain receivers, especially closed source receivers. Even enigma based receivers can have certain compatibility issues, or issues arising from not enough power being provided to the USB port. Chances are you will find one that works if you have a few lying around, but if you are buying one especially, then it is best to ask around to see what has worked for others. If you are buying a USB powered 2.5" drive then you may need to use a powered hub on certain receivers, or scrap that idea and go for an external powered 3.5" drive. Some mature receivers such as the Vu+ you will find that most things you throw at it will work!
sounds like it could be a faulty slot b?
"the server folks"?
If you read the reply by cazuela to your earlier thread, you will get your answer - All enigma2 based receivers such as the solo2 can get SD/HD channels, and it is all to do where your satellite dish is pointing, your position and the size of the dish, rather than the receiver as to what channels you can pick up.
The VU+ Solo2 box is new so has not (yet) been cloned.
Basically, a clone is a close copy of an original receiver, using cheaper parts, and assembled in factories with cheap labour, such as in countries like China. There are countermeasures however, where makers of the original receivers are able to give a unique ID to each original receiver, so that certain image and driver updates will not work in the clone machines. The clones are breaking the copyright of the legitimate original manafacturer, as all logos and packaging attempt to replicate the original. It is exactly the same as getting fake designer wear in that respect.
Dreamboxes have been cloned for a long time now, and the quality of the clones would have improved over time, but never to the original standard. At the same time, this drives the price down, and can cause problems for the original manafacturer.
Vu+ Solo and Duo clones are very common, but there have been a number of problems with regards to quality, especially around the power supply. Now, think about that for a minute and you can see the problem. Cheap copies made with cheap parts, problems with power supplies, less working images, less support, and a lot of the time your guarantee is not worth anything, so IMO I would steer away from Vu+ clones altogether.
There are receivers that are out there, cheaper than the ones being cloned, that are originals in their own right, meaning they don't attempt to copy another receiver and steal intellectual rights - just click on the sponsor link, and look at the range of E2 receivers and you will see.
Utter trash = bitching and attitude. Your comment on this thread about TSpanel is constructive, and explains the reason why you are against TSpanel, so more emphasises my point, and if you did get banned after the "utter trash" comment, then it was because of an accumulation of this kind of attitude, not as a result of one comment on one thread, so not really a major factor that it was about TSpanel.
QuoteI know Tspanel is a touchy subject here and it's the reason i was banned from this forum once before, and yes i do know that This forum operates and maintains a server on the Tspanel but if you would allow me to voice my opinion without banning me please ??.
Voicing an opinion isn't going to and hasn't got anyone banned, but attitude and bitching has. I don't think your last post will get you banned, but I think it is inaccurate to say that voicing your opinion got you banned before, it is ok to have an opinion, but without the attitude.
backup your image before installing tspanel, and if it gives you any issues, then you can flash the backup, if it doesn't, then great. I don't use tspanel at the moment but have in the past and I can't remember there being any issues, not disputing that there could be, but as I said, back up first and you can't go wrong.
The guide is based on channels set in your bouquets so follow mrgmx's advice and they will not show in your EPG.
Thanks.
Backup images take up a couple of hours of time, sometimes more if you include the upload and presentation, and can only be done by those who own the receiver in question. It can't really be expected that staff or members here do this on request, especially with images that are not the most popular.
If you like the image, then install it, download and install the plugins that interest you and install cccam and/or oscam if required. This is all that a backup image is, and once you get used to doing it then it becomes a doddle. If you get stuck then search the forums (there is a handy search bar too), and if you have any problems with understanding the info that is already there, then you can start a new thread in the right section to ask for more help. In the meantime, why not try out the existing backup images, and you never know, someone might eventually post one for your preferred image.....and that person might even be you!
Yes you clearly haven't read the rules so I suggest you read them first. This is a hobby and it is being ruined by payservers and those who use them. This forum is for people who this as a hobby, not for those who want to cut corners, and get cut price TV from fraudsters.
