ok so once you have installed the images - what have you done in respect of channel lists? Have you tried to install a channel list rather than scan for channels? elaborate a tad more and we might be able to pinpoint it.

I have done a rescan to make sure and it is not showing as an active channel - however bear in mind that this channel is not active all the time as is mostly ppv - it might show on sly receiver as active all the time as it could be on top of a MHEG-5 interactive broadcast which enigma receivers cannot handle - not sure - but I have always noticed that service on this channel is very intermittent.

Not sure the cause of the problem, but it seems for some reason the request for atlantic+1 CW is being sent as a request for atlantic - FC4E is showing up as the service id for atlantic and plus 1 - these should be different - so that is why it isn't working i think, but hard to know why it is doing it, could well be a problem with the client receiver if you have no problems with other clients.

please post an intro before posting further - it is part of the rules that you acceptedbeer10
    introductions

If you know that it can be done then surely there are guldes dotted around the places that you heard it can be done?

I have a Raspberry Pi but have no need for CSP - maybe you can use Oscam's Cache-ex...

OK - one thing at a time!

Once you have installed ViX - you then scan the channels,
menu - setup - Service searching - Manual scan - type of scan 'single satellite' - choose yes for network scan and no for the others, and scan the right sat - this should be anything with 28e or 28.2e mentioned - my one says Eutelsat 28A/Astra 1N/2A/2B (28 East) - then press exit on remote until you get on to the channel viewing screen

If you are only using ***, then do the following - select a sly channel by pressing the down button, green button (satellites) - select your satellite (28 East) - services, then select any channel. Choose a free one if you haven't got your emu working yet to make sure it is ok

We are assuming you have your network working, so I would then suggest you use the 'AutoBouquets' plugin

Press menu, plugins - and then the green button ('Download Plugins') - navigate to extensions, and scroll down to 'autobouquets' - and select and install.

Note that sometimes if the ViX downloads are in an unstable state then you might not be able to do this straight away, unless you allow your receiver to be able to, which I won't go in to at the moment unless needed.

once you have done this and it is installed, then in your plugins menu, you can select this, press menu to set up for your region, ensure that it is on HD, and then after this is set, you can download a sly like channel list.

Key here is to read, follow what it says and use your intuition, as most of it is intuitive!

CrossEPG, and your EPG ingeneral needs to be configured as well, it doesn't work out of the box, again all this is in the forum, use the search bar to get the info you need in future.

To get to the EPG config, press menu - setup - system - EPG - settings.

in settings, choose the epg location you desire- then press green, then select CrossEPG, select 'OpenTV providers' - select *** UK OpenTV (astra2 on 28.2) - the third one down - then press green to save
then select - 'configure' - and schedule once a day, and then select the time for a scheduled download - choose a time you dont watch or record - 4am is default - then press green.

to get an initial EPG - choose - 'Download now'

    this will grab the epg.

Once you have done this and waited for it to complete, the ViX EPG should work - press the EPG button.

Once you are on the EPG there are certain things you can configure using the menu button - i select yes for show bouquet on launch.

For setting up your Sly card, I would recommend you use Oscam to read your card. Easy way is to Download and install TSpanel - read the thread and download the one you need - once installed, go in to it from the plugins menu - select 'addons' - linuxsat_support_addons - cams - vix/oscam/cccam 2.1.3 configs, and scroll down to the one for sly_uk

then once this is installed, enable this - menu - setup - softcam/ci - softcam manager - and enable to start from boot, and green button starts it

    take your time!!!

Not sure about your specific card but your configs should auto update the card if it is receiving EMMs from the client - I have heard some saying that CCcam protocol gives better results updating the card - a bit of patience and leaving the receiver on the right channel helps! - If you are using Oscam as a cardreader and have CCcam as a server as I suspect you are, you would need to ensure that you are allowing the client to pass the EMMs to your server. A lot of people find this hit and miss and I have found things work better if your card is in an Oscam server that is also your receiver, then you can use DVBAPI.

Nobody responded to question 3 so reopened just to put in my two pence worth!

    3) I have a duo downstairs and 2 solos upstairs. If i have the 2 solos connected to my duo's 2TB HDD, could all 3 boxes record to the HDD at simultaneously?

Theoretically possible - best if the HDD is fast, and you need a good fast local network, the receiver that contains the HDD needs to share that via Samba or NFS - and on the the client receivers, you need to go to mounts setup, - use Network Browser to browse the network for the Share, and then you should set it as HDD replacement when you mount the network share. My experience of this is that it it doesn't work great, but has some success - SD recording and timeshifting are usually ok, but you could get different results.

I don't use whitelist anymore - agree with Ten Below on that one - my cards still work! - if you have put the right hex code for ESPN and it is set correctly then it should work though, and the fact that blanking out the list means it works suggests there is still an error in the whitelist you have.

you would need to access the server direct rather than over the network from remote computer and run a console and edit from there - if the router is 192.168.0.1 then the devices in your network will have to be 192.168.0.x - or you may be able to change the 0 to 1 on the virgin router - most routers let you do this (less likely if it is the stock router from your isp)
