yes it is working very well , but when i try to exchange all refuse me becase of these numbers , all the peers are getting 99% of ecm

I am getting a feel after a quick google, that the ecm times you are experiencing are quite normal for your card. Remember that ecm times differ depending on the card you have, i.e. a sly UK card will commonly be less than 100ms - I have a JSC sports card which is way over 200ms and an mtv unlimited which is over 600ms - and both are fine - and I have never been rejected by a peer based on my ecm times.

i have DB800 hd original on nemisis 4.3 i have loaded the vod plugin and additional AVI drivers. I can see the list of movies, but nothing will play. The screen goes to the movie player and i get the running bar at the bottom but hten after a couple of secs i get the screen to stop playing movie. What an I misisng

    many thanks

You are missing an introduction post in the introductions section

do a manual scan based on the details Banny gave. In the service searching menu, select manual scan, then select the tuner you are scanning on and change the rest - scan, without selecting network scan or clear before scan. I just did this, and the new service replaced the old one in my channels list. I didn't think that this updates the entry on the bouquet, but I am now thinking I might be wrong here based on the fact that my search seemed to update the entry rather than add a new one and keep the old one (contradicting an answer I gave to a recent question:ops:). If it hasn't updated on your bouquets, then find the channel on your 28.2e channel list (down arrow and green button) then when on the channel, press menu and add to the bouquet. I did this before checking the entry on my bouquet to see if it was using the updated channel, but I suspect that it might have already updated...

are you allowing the half an hourish it takes to reflash? - does it boot to teamread again when the USB containing the other image is plugged in? Have you tried formatting the USB stick with A USB disk formatting tool, rather than the windows tool? - have you tried another image? Explain what is happening on the LED display while you are applying the preflash and when you are installing the image? Have you tried another USB port or an different pen drive?

Lots of questions, but there are several links in the chain and you need to make sure every one is working!

are the files you have on the USB in a folder? If they are - it won't work (well that is the case for the GigaBlue 800HD - so assume the same for the SE) - start from the beginning - format the USB to fat32 - put the files (not in a folder) straight on to the root of your USB drive.

Can't see how on earth this would make the slightest bit of difference, barring any electrical fault, and even this as an idea is far fetched. More likely a coincidence - maybe you should check your connections because if you have been moving stuff around at the back of the receiver you might have affected the feed from the satellite going in to the reciever.

Not used Team Red for a while now, can't recall the problem - maybe the epg data is corrupted. I think most are moving on to other images, as TeamRed is not really getting much development at the moment - maybe it is good timing as there is a new SIF TeAm image - just had a sneaky look and it looks good (although just a quickie - as my VU+ is doing the business these days).

an up-to-date satellites.xml file will ensure that if satellites change/add transponders and frequencies then you will be able to pick up the services in the scan. Without the relevant information in the xml file you could miss some channels altogether. If you do a manual scan then there are a couple of options. You can clear channels before the scan, so the old ones go and then you get left with the ones you pick up at the current scan, or you can set the 'Clear before scan' to no, and with this you will pick up new services, and you will be able to find these in the 'new' section for the corresponding satellite - press the down button, then the green button to select satellites, then chose your satellite - select 'new' rather than Services or Providers. The latter will not delete the old entries, neither will either of these ways update the channel in your bouquet list. You will have to do this manually.

might be worth running a filesystem check in the BH HDD menu - and if this returns a positive result, have a go with another drive to rule out hardware being the issue. Often when things go wrong it is down to something else you have installed, so if you have anything installed or running - such as permanent time shift, or other plugins that you think might be causing this or if you can link the start of the problem to the time you installed a particular plugin, then remove or disable this for the time being to see if it is causing it.

below is a good site for tracking a satellite's position - the link is for TV satellites.

Maybe it would be interesting to take note of the signal strengths in relation to the position of the satellite and the times of day etc to see what causes the fluctuations. Nothing like experimenting (so I used to say in my late teensjoint10)

As far as I understand, a satellite eventually enters an inclined orbit towards the end of its life, as it has spent most of its fuel. As you rightly say Rik the orbit isn't completely stable, and that is why it needs fuel, to keep the orbit as stable as possible, however, I am not so sure that this has the biggest effect on the signal strength, obviously if this slight instability caused the satellite to dip below the horizon and then reappear, then it would be noticed, but there is a lot more going on.

A TV satellite usually has a geostationary orbit so therefore it is in a fixed position from an observer's point of view, so the earth's curvature should have no influence in the fluctuation of a satellite signal. Only if the orbit was inclined (not orbiting at 0 degrees to the equatorial plain) would this be a factor. From what I understand, it is more to do with the difference in the composition of the ionosphere and other layers of the earth's atmospere at certain points of the day, heavily influenced by the sun. Basically, the sun and atmospheric conditions do not remain constant, and this affects the journey of the microwaves as they pass through the layers of the earth's atmosphere.

A netbook is just a small laptop so everything will work accordingly - I used to have a very old EEE PC netbook (one of the first ever netbooks) running a server - I didn't use it with a cardreader as I used an Nline from my receiver, but 100% will be fine with a smargo without needing powered hub. If you need to use a hub to have more than one device on a single USB, then you will probably need a powered hub, but if it is the only device you need in a particular USB port then straight in the port will be fine - USB is designed as such to be universal and should always have the power needed to run devices.

Are you recording to an internal HDD, external HDD or network drive? Did you initialize your HDD if that is what you are recording to? I would suggest you try another drive to see if this works better - you said it has happened on a couple of occasions so not all the time? Must say I am using the same image and never seen this issue with recordings before.
