think you already read the other thread re CCcam on the AAF image - you might have missed the part I posted about setting up CCcam on that image.
the CCcam.cfg should reside in the /var/usr/keys directory - not the /etc directory

Is this the same issue? - you say you are having problems with 0 SNR on some channels - what setup do you have (fixed, motorised etc) and how is your tuner config set up?
It looks like you may have only picked up channels on one frequency - all the channels you mention are on 490.0Mhz (or C23) - This transponder is broadcasting at 200,000 watts, and the others (apart from the one that carries HD broadcasts) are at one tenth of this power at 20,000 watts. On April the 18th the power will be increasing so you may get more luck. A better aerial might be needed for now, or maybe the tuner isn't very sensitive. take a look at this;
should work - most likely problem is a bad satellites.xml file, or the tuner config being incorrect - I have no problems with any bouquet lists - and yes if you auto scan it might still work because it will be scanning files based on the current satellites.xml file, where as when you use settings it would rely on the xml file being in sync with the positions in your settings. It might be an idea to use one of the settings on the addons server first? - never tried the settings you mention so can't speak for them
there are fairly up to date settings in the addons server but download the latest and send them to the box manually - I am using the latest catseye settings and working just fine - the satellites.xml file goes in /etc/tuxbox, and the bouquets go in /etc/enigma2 - restart gui and should be ready to go.
the HDF image is just a backup of the TeamRed image so it is fine - and is the one I am using. I just installed the extra url and it is connecting fine, so I am wondering if you are connecting to the net at all on your gigablue? - you should be able to access it from the Addons Manager, and then select 'Download Extra'
download this file - ftp into your receiver, and paste it into the /etc directory, and restart. The applet doesn't work out the box if you have added a password to your receiver, so this manual install might be easier
To access the extra URL, I think you need to press the blue button twice - can't remember 'cause am using the HDF image which is tuned a bit different. The HDF image has a panel already installed with the cams so you could try to install this image, and there is also the AAF image, which again already has cams in the addon section. You sholdn't have a problem so long as you are going to the right places to do the right things. Have a look at the gigablue sectioin for other images.
you need to install the extra url addon
http://linuxsat-support.com/gi…1-extra-url-uploader.html
Once you have added this, restart your GUI, and you will have an extra URL in your addon download panel to install cams. Once you have selected and installed your softcam, then you need to edit your CCcam.cfg which is in the /etc folder, and activate the cam in your redpanel
hope this helps
promo7uk not sure if it is nice to mock others for their ignorance or lack of knowledge, because you only know something if you know something. If you read the post it does not indicate that he understands the concept of how CCcam is used and indeed what for - i.e. cardsharing, so withouth knowing this, then questions over its legality might be raised for a complete newbie.
Anyway al madhi, to answer your question, firstly, what it stands for, I couldn't tell you, but I can tell you what it does. Basically, it allows you to share a card over a network, and receive a shared card over a network, there is also some functionality in allowing it to decrypt using keys that are kept in a file locally for some offline use, but this is limited. The legality of cardsharing is quite clear when it comes to you bypassing having to pay the provider to receive the channels you are watching, although the legality is somewhat unclear when CCcam is used to share a card you paid for in your own network, although usually the latter would be a breach of contract with many providers, as it is hard to see what laws they could enforce.
The way CCcam was intended to be used was for enthusiasts with motorised satellite dishes and linux receivers to be able to watch foreign channels where they may not be able to obtain subscriptions for the services they want to watch, or for practical reasons where they can't have lots of cards without buying more equipment. By sharing the card that they subscribe to, in return they get a share off the person they share their card with, and this allows the user to build up a number of virtual cards. Some people may use it by buying a limited card at a lower cost to a full subscription and sharing this with others who have different cards or services, in order to pay less than the full subscription cost of the services they want. If anyone asks you to pay them any money for a share of their card(s), then you should never accept this and pay, because these people are scum and are ruining the hobby. CCcam is for sharing, and there is plenty of information on this forum if you intend to learn how to do it.
Cardsharing is illegal outside your own network, and you use it at your own risk and at your responsibility!! The information on this forum is for information purposes only.
I wouldn't hold your breath - Blu Ray support is barely existent in linux, due to the way the copy protect decryption works. The methods have only recentlty got to the stage where it is possible, but not to the point where you can pop in a disc and it plays. Until recenlty we always had to rip the full disc, and even still, playback would be dependent on having the keys. I didn't bother with this when I had my HTPC, and opted for Windows due to the lack of Blu Ray support in linux. I am sure it will happen eventually, but that is just linux. the Vu+ is another thing. One thing the Vu+ Duo (only know this through having one) does have is External SATA support, so in theory should be able to have Blu Ray drive support dependent on working drivers, but I think we are still possibly years away from an actual Blu Ray film straight from the shop being able to play on the Vu+ This being the case I don't think that the developers would even bother getting at least the drive working, because there isn't any point until it will play the movies!
samething with the channels, im using dreamboxedit load the channels on would that have anything to do with it different program
Not quite sure I understand what you mean.
If you are doing everything you say you are doing and not missed anything, agree that it is running, and your server can see it, and it even works on sly atlantic, then I am stumped apart than suggesting you delete what you have installed, try to use the AAF addon panel to install the cam this time rather than use one you find and ftp to the box. I had this image running with CCcam so I know it works.
If your dish is up well you should be able to use usals - to enable this chose configuration simple, mode positioner, set long and lat.
ok so it is clearing one channel with CCcam - I take it you are getting fta channels? - Also i assume you have got a different fline set up on your server for each of your receivers?
So on your PC server, it is showing that you are connected to the receiver? If that is the case then it must be reading the CCcam.cfg, and that on the panel it is showing it is connected, but the channels are not clearing?
It is sounding more like a config issue rather than a communication issue.
Have you enabled the softcam on he AAF softcam panel?
are you using the AAF image or the TeamRed image?
The CCcam binary should be in /usr/bin/ - binary should be called CCcam_2.1.4.
there should also be a file in your /etc folder called CCcam_2.1.4.emu - the contents of this file should read;
emuname = CCcam 2.1.4
binname = CCcam_2.1.4
startcam = /usr/bin/CCcam_2.1.4 -t
stopcam = killall -9 CCcam_2.1.4
this file creates the entry for CCcam 2.1.4 in the AAF softcam panel, so it can be controlled properly - i.e. starts on boot. Make sure you are enabling CCcam on the panel.
If you installed via the plugins menu on AAF then all this should be there.
CCcam.cfg should reside in the /var/usr/keys directory - if there isn't one there, then create your own - remember the filename is case sensitive and should have 2 upper-case C's 'CCcam.cfg' - make sure the permissions of this file are set to '755'.
Might be something to do with your tuner configuration - Can you tell us what setup you have (meaning whether you have fixed, motorised, multi etc) and how you have set up your tuner in 'menu' - 'setup' - 'service searching' - 'tuner configuration'
have you got 15.8e in your sat list? - it sounds like there might be an issue with the satellites.xml file
the satellites.xml file on the blackhole image is located in /etc/tuxbox - not sure about your image but might be the same, could be /var/tuxbox
if you can open the satellites.xml file with an editor such as notepad++, look for an entry similar to this
if your 16e channels are blanked out, then it may show as this or similar
where position="158" - try changing it to position="160"
if it isn't showing any entry at all for 15.8e or 16e, then you may need to get an up to date satellites.xml file
or use the link at the top that says 'sat xml file' - generate your own file from what sats you need, then put this in the /etc/tuxbox/ folder (or wherever it goes in your image
then restart GUI.
