i have oen of this readers, but im havving troble to setup with OSCAM
can some one help me with some smargo config for oscam, so i can see if this works

I am also struggling to get this working with Oscam. In smartreader or smargo mode it doesn't find it, and in mouse mode you get the error 'ERROR: Could not read reader->convention'

not found a solution anywhere, the windows tools don't work on this reader as it gives you an error after detecting multiple readers so no update this way, on doing some searching, it seems that they intend to bring out some tools for this to enable it to be used in smartreader mode.

The closest I get it to work is in mouse mode, but on all frequencies tried for my cards I get the above error. These are £60 quid, and when you can get card readers from our sponsor for a tenner then I think I might sell this one and get three single readers from sat-shop

the debian package needs to be burnt on a CD - as a bootable ISO - then you need to boot your PC from the CD (or use Virtual Machine however you are doing it) - the pc needs to be wire connected to the network/internet, and you need to follow the guided install. It is an operating system so will prompt you to wipe everything off your PC so take care in what you are doing - If you are installing a server you are best having it on a dedicated machine - the message you see has something to do with the grub bootloader but not seen it myself

The logs still say your server has started, so I can't see them messages causing the crash - Hard to pinpont what is causing it, but I am wondering if you have a busy server then tidying up the server, such as editing your shares so you are only receiving cards that you need, reducing the amount of hops you receive (if you have a lot of peers you might not need their HOP2's for example) and getting rid of peers that give you high usage where you get not much in return, can help as everything has a limit.

I will have a look at this a bit later- as I said not visited this for a while - when myself and cazuela looked at this - we were doing it as a proof of concept so it does work but it isn't something I have really visited since as it is a bit impractical. Cannot remember the version I used - might have been 1.24 - but will have a butchers soon!

when you are in dreambox edit, you click the entertainment bouquet on the panel on the right, so just to the left of this, the channels that are in the bouquet appear. Just drag and drop the files in to the positions you want them in that bouquet. Once you have them in the order you want them, then you save it and send it back to your receiver.

It should work with the latest version of VLC, but on VLC they tend to evolve things so you may find that there is a slight difference from version to versioin in how you need to apply the setup, so you need to look to see what is most likely option that corresponds to the guide. I can't remember what version I got this working on, but I do know the earlier versions (0.99 version i think) doesn't work because it doesn't give you certain options and doesn't allow the ports to be changed. The purpose of VLC streaming is to reduce the bandwidth so you can broadcast it over the network. The problem with this and keeping subtitles is that the subtitles are part of the original transport stream file, and any compression can cause certain aspects of the stream to not be available, so you may lose the subtitles. I know that for the transcoding options, you can click on the tools icon by the selection to 'edit selected profile' - there are 4 tabs that come up, and one of them is 'subtitles' - try checking this box to allow subtitles.

Just have a play with the options, but if you have got it working then you have the basic idea. VLC streaming is something that does work, but it is not the easiest to get set up, and there are alternatives to this method, such as TS Dreambox player.

I am not sure what you are trying to do 100% -but in Dreamboxedit, you have the list of channels on a particular satellite on the left, and on the right you have the bouquets. If you have a channel in a bouquet that you don't want, then you delete it. If you have a channel in your satellite list on the left panel that you want in a bouquet, you can drag this to the one you want it. You can also drag a channel in one bouquet straight to another bouquet. It is almost as intuitive as a file browser with drag and drop. Try experimenting, as whatever you change won't be applied until you send the edited lists back to the receiver.

I had an Eaglebox HD Mini - same in essence to the 800HD but smaller - I had it for 6 weeks. I think I would be pleased if it fell out of a christmas cracker, but of al the receivers I have had, this is by far the one I got on with the least.

    Code
All the support I see is ''mine is working fine'' which seems strange because so many arn't.

I posted problems about this receiver on a certain forum, and for some reason I they put me on Coventry mode so no one will ever know about the issues I posted. I was only trying to help, so the people making the patches could see what needs improving. Banning people isn't going to help - because how will they know what to fix?

I can't speak German, but looking at the gigablue support forum, it appears that some USB drives don't install. Thinking back, I think my issue was with a external HDD rather than a USB drive.

There should be a folder either called /media or /mnt - have a look in this folder to see if there are any folders that relate to your device. could b USB or USB1, but could even be a strange random looking name that it might have created.

    The fstab file (which is found in /etc) will usually have an entry like this;

    Code
    /dev/sdb1 /mnt/usb auto defaults 0 0

the random looking name will most likely refer to the device, such as sda1, sdb1, sdb5 etc.

If the device is not in the fstab, then it may well not be mounting in a way that is recognised by CrossEPG, so you might need to edit the above line to get it to mount as /mnt/usb rather than /mnt/something else

I am away at the moment but when I get back I will have a look at it. I have a USB pen working with the receiver on the TeamRed - I think you might have to initialise it or somethingl, but I also had an issue I think with the AAF where I needed to edit the fstab file for it to be recognised by crossepg - give us a couple fo days - haven't got my receiver around to look over what you have to do - but to be honest I couldn't find the answers, messed around with the box and found my own, so it is always worth doing that as much as you can - you learn a lot on the way - if no luck or no other answers by tue or weds eve then i am sure i will be able to find the answer for you!

funny that - cause that is what i did and it all worked fine you must have missed something out - try starting from scratch again and then install everything in the right places with the setting set as described - if this doesn't work I couldn't help you without having it there in front of me to make sure you are doing everything the way you should, so it seems to be hitting a brick wall with something that is so simple.

try the sgtflipflop - if you have fixed 28.2e, then don't download the multi one as this is for motorised.

unrar the file - ftp your receiver - in the folder you got after unpacking the .rar file, there is a file called 'sattelites.xml - copy this to /etc/tuxbox - overwriting the one in there already

then copy the files in that folder (from the unrar'd package sgtflipflop) to /etc/enigma2 - overwriting the ones you have in there already

    restart GUI

what satellite setup do you have?

go to Menu - Setup - service searching - tuner configuration - post here how that is set up

Have you loaded any services/settings? if so, which ones, and by what method?

need to know more before I can help - i have no problems at all with this receiver running the TeamRed image. Had some stability issues with CCcam on the AAF image, but still managed to get it working.

Not seen this yet on my Vu+ but know this type of issue occured on the Qbox that I had before - which was helped by installing a swap on a separate USB flash drive. Also if you have any Picons or EPG data it is always best to have these on a USB flash rather than on the HDD you are using for recordings. Make sure that you are initialising the HDD properly from the Vu+ before using it.
