When you press menu on your remote do you get anything?
You should have got a first boot up set up wizard if you installed the image correctly and after wizard is finished the box will go to a default channel and in most cases the default channel list is outdated or pointing to the wrong satellite in such cases with remote press menu>setup>service searching>tuner config then select advance select your satellite click on lnb if it is not on, then do a scan or install bouquet of your choice. -
I have not tried this but someone from another forum said it solved the judder problem a Golden media image suitable for Alien 8900:

I didn't like HDMU either I used PKT Hyperion and installing hard drive was easy as well on it coincidently on another forum someone said this image solved the judder problem

Channel list = bouquets look around lots about can also install autobouquet set your region and away you go, no need to worry about manually loading channel list every so often.

Once you have the image you like it will be like your vu in the respect that you will be able to ftp the bouquet of your choice into your box giving you favourites etc.. If you choose pkt then you will be able to download emu of your choice I used oscam but mgcamd is also available although I couldn't get mgcamd to work for me.

I had trouble with tsmedia when I updated it I lost my openwebif so next time I used media portal see this thread here.

I use the PKT image you only need the one folder the 'enigma2' there are two files in that folder you put the whole 'enigma2' folder onto the usb stick and follow instructions.

This is what I did.
You need a FAT32 format usb stick, this receiver is fussy with usb stick some recommend using kingston but I found that using the HP usb format tool suggested by someone on this forum got my usb stick working when it didn't previously work.
1.Download your image and unrar you should have a enigma2 folder with 2 files inside it.
2.Place the enigma2 folder fromyour pc onto the usb stick.
3.Whilst you receiver is off press the 'ok' and keep on pressing it down and power up you receiver until your see FORC on the receivers display.
4.Press the down channel button 'v' you should see the display change to ENIG press 'ok button when display say SUCC switch off your reciever.
5.Put you usb stick into your receiver and once again power on receiver whilst pressing 'ok' button untilyou see FORC.
6.Press the up volume button '>' you should see the display change to FACT press 'ok'
7.If everything is al-right then you should see U_LOAD you just wait until image is installed and at the end it will boot up.
8.If you see 7 77 then either you need to use another usb stick or you have not put the proper enigma2 folder on to usb stick.Good Luck.

I think he is asking how to clear these channels , check you internet and put AJ's up to date list in your box.

As I said a good starter box, so far all reviews of it are good runs a little hot but without any problems and set up and the way it works is the same as the much more expensive boxes therefore I still recommend it.

You should set dhcp to on then the router will auto find your sat receiver you will have to put your network password in to the receiver I am assuming wifi.

I still don't know what you mean by locked can't you upgrade firmware or load a enigma2 image? Or did your box come with a so called gift so that you can't change settings? I have never come across a mention of a locked Amico box.

For under £100 openbox 6000 hd a vu solo clone seems a good starter enigma box.

I think the time limit is enough, I have typed quickly and posted quickly and reading through what I have posted found glaring mistakes and had enough time to correct if you want unlimited time to modify post then the whole meaning of the thread might be lost, you also have the option to reply to the post correct and correct any errors you might have made or clear up misunderstandings.

I think it is a channel edit tool for the openbox x5 I don't have one so can't test.

Hi Guys,
was wondering if anyone could help me, i want to make my own SLY uk channel list up for a F3 and be able to save it and duplicte it on other F3s, is this easy enough to do?

After you download your list from your box it will be in the .dbs format
1.use the split.exe to split the file into .rom and .udf files
2.run the Ali.editor select open file then choose your .udf file then edit away
3.once you finish editing save file then use the merge.exe file to get new .dbs file
4.after that I assume you know how to upload it back in box.
