All you need to do is go in to settings and add satellite you can name it anything but enter the position correctly eg 13e. Once you have added the satellite select it and do a scan, long as your dish or LNB is pointed in the right direction you will pick up channels for that satellite.

I must be doing something wrong.
I unzipped the file, & selected it to open with notepad & then I copied my line of code from my server & pasted it into Notepad.
I was then prompted to save this in the E Drive which is USB.
I did that & tried it on the receiver, but the receiver says "fail, cannot open file."
I wonder what I'm doing wrong.

After you have opened then pasted your line in the file you must do this :
select save as then in the save as type option select all files then name your file CCcam.cfg then press save otherwise you will get a .txt file instead of a .cfg.

One more thing to remember the file must be on the root of the usb stick that is not in a folder.

I don't think anyone sells rs232 cable for the S12 now you will probably have to make one up but if your S12 boots up it is not a firmware problem, while plugged into your t.v press the video format button on your S12 remote see if you get a picture if not I'm afraid it is time for a new box.

I take it you have two boxes, try the box that works in the same place as where your X6 is if you get problems replicated in this box then you have to look at your cable and connectors make sure no shorts or cable not frayed, if cable and connectors are o.k then try connecting the cable to a different output of the lnb.

The glitches might be one of two things either the line or ISP , vm superhub and talktalk's old router seem to cause problems and about some channels not clearing you need to talk to the server of your line he might not subscribe to them. If it is HD channels recently sly carried out a update on cards which mean't for some the channels went dark.

Hi there, I am new to this forum.
I tried downloading the upgrade for use on my openbox x3 but it doesn't work. I save the file as dbs but it doesn't seem to be working for me, am I doing something wrong during download?

Bit more info is required what are trying to upgrade? Firmware is in the .abs file format and channel list is in the .dbs file format, if you try to upgrade using wrong file you might brick your box.

If your dish is correctly aligned to 28.2e and you got the name of your satellite in your sat list, Astra 28.2e, select this satellite then do a blind scan this will give you all the channels you can receive, you can then use the channel editor on your box to create your own fav list getting read of repeat channels and select your regional channels.

Just to add you can create a CCcam.cfg file using notepad:
    1. Open notepad
    2. Enter or copy your lines into the notepad
    3. Save as, name your file CCcam.cfg
    4. Select the all files option
    5. save

    Hi,
Not sure whether to keep my default settings in my pc or to change them.
I'm sure I'm doing everything correct, using the loader for the f3, using a null modem cable and trying different timings.

Not 100% sure if the port settings are correct and matching my pc and stb or whether they should be matching.

I think when you tick the boot loader option that should take care of your settings the error you are getting is a communication error between you pc and your box I think you have done everything right, one possibility is a hardware problem if you feel brave enough open up your box look around the com port see if any connections are loose might be a dry joint or over soldering causing a short, these Chinese made boxes do vary in the quality of manufacture.

You leave the bit rates to 115200 the error you get is a connection error, make sure are using a null modem cable try using different loaders from this site1 and also from this site2 use the loader for F3.

Is the com that you enter in your recovery tool same as what you are using? Look in device manager to see what port you are using and also are you ticking the include boot loader option?

    Hi

I have a ***box F5 and wanted to know what the loop connection at the back of the box is for?

    Thanks in advance

The loop through connection allows you to connect another sat receiver without connecting to the LNB, the disadvantage you can't have both receivers on at the same or if you do only one receiver will determine what you will able to watch on the other and before the question is asked I will tell you it does not mean that while your first receiver is able to clear channels the second one will clear channels to unless you also put the secret ingredient in.

I saw the spec as the nec processor and not ali

The specs that I've seen on several sites for the X6 and they show ali3601 processor and specs are remarkably similar to the S11. If bado123 can get the X6 back up and running tell us what the difference is? Another thought that occurs because it looks like a backward step from X3 and X5 is whether the firmware for the S11 might load on to it.

bought a ***box f3 some channels are scrambled for example racing uk and baby tv

I definitely know that baby tv recently changed frequency maybe the case with the other channels too, in this case you will need to upload a up to date channel list to your f3. If this does not solve your problem then you will need to talk to the supplier of your gift.

Which eprom upgrade are you using? The X6 uses a different processor to that of the other X series, I for one have not found a rs232 loader for the X6 but you can give it a try because at the moment you got a brick.
