usb stick is from realtek
try this over telnet:
opkg list | grep 8192
then you will see, what you can install, hope will work

please try this file in Attachment
copy the .ipk file via FTP (DCC_E2 or FileZilla) to the box in the /tmp folder
Connect to the box via telnet and enter the following command:
opkg install /tmp/*.ipk
reboot

You need to install other packages as well, the wirelesslan, the various libraries to support encryption, etc...
Are you able to see "open/not encrypted" Wifi ?
