Can anyone advise the best image for someone that struggles to see the bouquet on a standard Vix or ATV image or can anyone tell me how to make the tesx bigger etc. I thought that I replace my Dads freesat box with an old xp1000 box that I had but he struggles to see the bouquet's due to poor vision.

    Thanks for any help.

It looks like my method is not correct, when I check the system info it says 15.2 so it seems like it's only the splash screen that has changed. Sorry about this. I will try to dig deeper to see if there is a simple way to export then import Jarvis

This might help someone else so here goes.

I want my enigma2 for VM channels but still want Kodi. I could only find openSPA image that had Kodi 16 Jarvis but my preffered image is openATV

I installed openSPA 5.0.006 to SD card
ftp to it and copied Share/kodi folder to my pc
remove sd card and install openATV
ftp to openATV and rename or delete share/kodi folder
upload backed up kodi-jarvis to openATV reboot and there is my kodi 16

I haven't done any testing yet but don't think there will be any problems.

Can someone recommend a card reader for the Wetek. I have bought one with a Cable tuner installed but also ordered a sat Tuner. I want to try to use the Cable one but have no idea what card reader. stevejo suggested smargo or omnikey but it would be great if someone could confirm which one and which model.

    Thanks

000webhost are actually blocking primewire.ag if you change the protected $prefix = 'http://primewire.ag'; to protected $prefix = 'http://50.7.245.186'; and protected $blockedDomains = array('primewire.ag'); to protected $blockedDomains = array('50.7.245.186'); then browse to the url you will see that the proxy will work for the pirate bay blocked by many ISP's I know that this will not fix your 1Channel but it does explain why it's not working.

Thanks guys I like the idea of painting dish to blend in, it will keep her off my back. I will get a copy of what satellite and have a read up. I want as small a dish as I can get away with but don't want to cut my nose off if you know what I mean.

I would like some advice for a motorised setup. My location is in the midlands (Staffordshire) I currently have SLY dish but would like to setup a small motorised in my back garden mounted on a pole. Wife will not let me have a large dish so I need to know what's the smallest dish that I will be any good. I don't know if it matters but I prefer mesh dishes just for the looks. I know that you will probably want to know what channels I would like to view but I can't really answer that because I have no idea what's available. So it's a case of anything that's available in English. I don't mind buying a card to view so long as it's not going to cost an arm and a leg. I have to get this past her indoors. I have 2 sat boxes xp1000 and tm Nano oe. My house location does limit have limited view so it's probably only East facing sats that I can see.

Any help / advice much appreciated.

I have not owned the octagon but had the F5 and the nano. In my opinion get the nano it's a great box for the price and you can add a drive internally or external. Internal requires a fan and a caddy best purchased at the same time as the box from the site advertising here.

Bus powered and I did format it via the box eventually, so that might be what sorted it. Initially I was just trying to mount it I also found that some images did not like ntfs so had to install a driver first before I could mount it. I will have to unplug it and see if I can see what format it is on my PC.

    Thanks

I bought a new 500GB usb drive to let me record and store epg files, but then found that when I tried to record to it everything seemed to stutter and jump on playback. I then tried different firmware images and finally got it working on an OPENA.TV image. I don't think my problem is image related but more the way that I mounted and formatted the drive. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what the best way to add a new drive would be. The drive was NTFS if that makes any difference. I tried all sorts of things in an attempt to get it working and now have no idea what I actually did to get it working.

    Thanks

    Cheers master G

I was asking because I thought that the word "firmware" was something different than the image, I was thinking that the image sat on top of the firmware as a front end. I was going to get the box with the official so that I can back it up then play with other images.

The sponsor offers a choice of firmware when you buy the XP1000 is it best to have the official firmware and load others later (assuming that you can make a backup of official firmware as a fallback) They offer Vix team, OpenAAf and OpenPLi. I have no idea what the difference is between these so would probably want to have a look at all of them. Is it just a case of uploading them to the box as and when ? I don't have the box yet because sponsor is on hols :( so not ordering until the 18th August, so want to check first.

    thanks

    No matter
    I think I understand now :)

Thank you all for your replies. I'm edging towards the maxdigital xp1000 or Golden media triplex and then perhaps buy a solo2 later. I can give my F5 away or sell it later. It sounds like you get what you pay for but when this is just a toy for me I think I would prefer to spend £130 at the moment rather than the £309 for the better box. I will do some reading to compare these 2 boxes to see wich suits my needs the best.
