I think i have it sorted...... only took all feckin day lol.

It would seem that the Ferguson Wi-Fi W02 802.11b/g/n Dongle in a xtrend box can only use WEP encrption on a router..... if you use the newer WPA/WPA2 the dongle cannot connect to the router, this was with a Netgear & BT homehub 5.

Just wanted to update this post and bring the whole thing to a conclusion..... after further testing i did get the ferguson wifi dongle to work using WPA only encrytion. With the BT homehub the encryption must be changed first, then setup the dongle using the netwprk wizard and a full reboot had it working. If i selected WPA/WPA2 in the network settings the dongle would not connect but using WPA only on the router & image settings has finally solved it. This has worked well as i did go down the WEP key route only to find that the wireless heating controls could no longer connect to the router as it doesn'r support the older encryption methods!! lol

Just to finish this is in no way to do with the xtread receiver.... it was the same using the ferguson dongle with a Vu solo2. It seems to be down to the dongle itself and possibly drivers.

    Case closed.

Would by chance anyone on the forum have a xtrend et8000 using a Ferguson Wi-Fi W02 802.11b/g/n Dongle to connect to their router?

If you could advise which driver you installed to get the wifi dongle working it would be most appreciated.....

Do you mean it's a twin lnb??? If it is a single lnb it would only have one output.... If you have two feeds running from the lnb on your dish keep tuner A as you have it and try changing tuner B to second cable from motor...

hi could anyone put up a copy of there opkg file ( the one in the etc folder) that allows access to the vix feeds, I am on an old hellios image and feeds no longer work. I am reluctant to flash a newer image as I don't want to start a fresh plus my box runs really well on this image and don't want to mess with it

If you really don't want to upgrade to the newest version of the openvix image then what is it you need the feeds for bud? you might get around this by installing the Linuxsat addons panel which contains all the latest channel lists/plugins/picons etc etc......

You can find our addons panel here: [DOWNLOAD] Linuxsat-Support Add-ons Panel

From what i can see you have only asked for help on one thread bud..... you have a reply over there now: http://linuxsat-support.com/showthread.php?t=16479&p=295443#post295443

Nobody here is going to do this for money..... you don't need to pay someone to do it, you just need to keep at it and not give up so easliy..... takes time to get your head round it. Also offering to pay someone makes you look like your getting into this for the wrong reasons, a hobbyist would want to do this themselves so they can understand how it all works.

    This thread is now closed....

I have attached a edited opensc config file for you, this works with omnikey readers..... there is also a guide of how to install the reader.

Use this command when you have installed your omnikey to see it connected.... sudo lsusb

    Ok to install the softcam....

menu/plugins/green button (download plugins)/softcams.... select CCcam 2.3.0 this will install the cam.

Restart the receiver.... now follow the instructions given to you in post#2. When you have done that press the blue button, select softcam manager, highlight Cccam 2.3.0, now press the blue button to enable startup, then press the green button to start the cam.

    Job Done!
