I have installed MgCamd 1.38 now and it does work, but I'd like to know exactly how it works and how it is invoked...
For example why does MgCamd get used when watching FTA channels. Also how often is a call to the server made?
I get a lot of freezes and wonder if I can figure out what is happening by examining my log file.
My aim is to try and understand how MgCamd works and work out what any error msgs might mean so that I can adjust any parameters to get as good a service as possible.
Currently I'm starting from scratch with a fresh installation and need to re-install MgCamd. Is there a recommended version? And where do I get it?
Can anyone tell me how I can make any sense of my mgcamd.log?

I had a similar problem with 7.3 and noticed that 7.5 has just been released so gave that a try but that doesn't install either.

Receiver DM 800 HD se (clone) Installed cccam 2.30 and mgcamd 1.35a The share provider recommend mgcamd or newcamd 5.25 (i received a N line) and his server is newcamd 5.25.
cccam 2.30 works but i have freezing and because he told me other cams are better for his server i tried mgcamd (i can't install newcamd - some library missing).
My provider suggested using newcamd 5.25 but I have been unable to locate it. Do you have a link?
I originally got my system working with cccam but had frequent freezes. After changing to MgCamd performance improved but I still do get more freezes than I would like. I would like to see if newcamd will be a better option.

A little more than what I was ready for but will keep it in mind for when I understand a little bit more about STBs.
So where does this file come from? Is it part of the image (BH for instance)? And does it need to maintained regularly because of various changes.
Should I edit this file, if I want eliminate various providers which I'm not interested in? What editor do I use? And what purpose does the file serve?
Apologies for bombarding you with so many questions, but I don't know how all these files, 'services', satallites.xml and bouquets hang together.
What is lamedb? I presume it is something like services...
DreamboxEDIT seems to require a 'services' file - I doesn't recognise lamedb.
I am having trouble getting to grips with satellites, services and bouquets.
I have been sent lists including satellite.xml and various bouquets, but I'm not sure where to copy them.
And can anyone explain what a services file is?

I have since re-installed 2.0.5 and will attempt to install GAP 7.3 and delete fancontrol before rebooting.
Let's see if it makes a difference...
Having looked for GAP 7.3 I can't find anywhere where I can actually download it.

Hi mate I've just put the same question/problem in a different section only difference being I used Blackhole 2.0.6 and Gap 7.3 and tried also meoboot /image's same outcome as you so the only thing you can do is let it try to load spinner going then back button reload your image via usb.Good luck if you find a way to load GAP please let's know.Cheer's

I am unable to install BH 2.0.6 on my Openbox S6000HD, although 2.0.5 installs without problems.
Has this anything to do with being a clone box?
I have just installed GAP 7.1 on an ENIGMA2 STB running Blackhole 2.0.5 and Enigma2 will not restart.
The GUI has changed from the default VU plus screen to a silver ball on three blue lines with G I G A N T written underneath.
There is a Message (2) which says 'Box has no fancontrol hardware ->FC2 deactivated'
and the spinning image in the top left hand corner has been spinning for half an hour, so I guess the system is stuck.
What should I do?
I have just installed this plugin and get a DNS error 1channel.ch....
