Is it necessary to back up ipad 2 before jailbreaking

    Is it necessary to backup my ipad 2 running ios 5.0.1 before jailbreaking with absinthe 0.3? If so could someone please recommend a method of backing up said device?
    I have had the ipad since Christmas but haven't used it yet...Wasn't expecting it to take so long for the jailbreak to come out!

    yes always back your device up, jailbreaking is an easy process but it does alter your file system, and it can go wrong sometimes for no reason , ive been jailbreaking since fw 1.1.4 so have been around a bit , ALWAYS BACK YOUR DEVICE UP

    Best thing to do is save your SHSH's to the latest version of Tiny Umbrella in case they ever find a way to downgrade again and just crack on!


    No iOS FW release other than 6.0 will be signed by apple. So saving blobs is impossible in this case.


    Jailbreaking the currently installed 5.0.1 version is the best (and only) thing you can do...
