Vu Duo affecting Broadband

  • Hi,

    I was wondering if anyone else has came accross this issue? When my Vu Duo is plugged in to the broadband connection, everything seems to go off or drop. For example, I have a Vodafone Sure Signal Box and it stops working. When I unplug the ethernet cable from the box everything is straight up, and plug it back in off it goes? Any help or anyone with previous experience would be great? Thanks

  • it sounds like a cable or ip conflict if you using a cable to the box change it.if no joy there turn all of that connected to the network turn them on one at a time and check the network as you go see if any of them is conflict with it.if you are using home plugs check them to

  • What image is on the box? I've had this exact same with two other brands of box, neither of them a Vu, but both of them were running OpenVIX.

    Also, what hub or router are you using? Both times I had the problem was with people who were using a BT Home Hub.

    In the end, the way round the problem was to set a static IP for the box within the Home Hub's DHCP server settings

  • Hi, just getting a chance to reply. Here are the configs...it's simply once the Ethernet cable is unplugged broadband works, plug it back in and it goes down.. I downloaded the configs of Linux sat from memory some time back. Hopefully someone can help me, thanks

    It is a regular issues with mgcamd users. I wish all the people who upload these configs disable the logging option by default

    Use Notepad++ to do your editing, not windows notepad

    Change this

    Code
    L: { 03 } 172.16.1.1 28007 /tmp/mgcamd.log

    to

    Code
    L: { 00 }
