just had a chat with them
I think your missing the point to be honest.... it's only the Thomson HD box they want to remove, i doubt there are many of them in exsistance to be honest compared to millions of SD receivers.
can anyone recommend what sd box to get that still works? , im gonna cry the lack of hdmi on my tv means i cant use the new one and i was using component from the thomson :-)
also a query - how will they stop my other card paired with an amstrad 890 on the old software?
think ill do the pairing myself with the web / phone app and monitor the entitlements and it can stay where it is far away from the new sky box for now lol :-) as long as they think iv swaped it the entitlements may still come!?
this is down to the hd thompson boxes not being compatible with whatever they upgrade on the boxes, obviously abit of a issue for us who share the card, but is it a bad thing if they replace the box and card? surely the new red card can works with oscam /?
Kaia i think its a no brainer get the new sky q boxes after all u are paying for it, and use the multiroom one to share, that is providing the new red card will work on oscam from what i have read it appears it will work as long as u have the box key.
I think the red card working at the moment will soon change to not working soon. I'm sure sky have something up their sleeve to stop it all. The screens may well be going black beginning of next year..... Hope I'm wrong😗

just pair them to an sd box not hd
But how many Pace sd boxes are still out there, a while to go yet, I think
it don't matter what sd box you get

Any SD Box in particular or any at all??
Any at all bud.... never seen anyone posting on here about a certain type or model of SD receiver not working for this.
if i have white card thats paired to thompson hd box its simple enough to pair with a sd box?
ok so red card arrived today......just put in oscam with same boxkey as b4 (thompson box) i take it i should pair the card with a different hd and will just work?
sWeRvEr probably best pairing it with any other sky hd box. If they are phasing out the thompson you will be forced to pair it again at some stage..
Red card will still work straight out of any other HD sky box.. Just add the new boxkey to oscam.server.
In view of events I have dug out my Sky + SD box as my current box is the fated Thompson HD and I have received the letter. My question is does anybody know the current firmware on the Sky + SD Box, I have done the (Back Up) to obtain any updates but when finished it was still on the same firmware. ( Operating System 1.31B11 ) ( EPG Software Version 5.08.6 ) By the way I currently have a White Card paired to a Thompson HD Box with an SD Sub been in 500s server for local for last 3 years.
can the boxkey be added with the white cards and does it matter what version of oscam im running
