Hi
Did you have any joy with your VU? I may have the same problem on my one. All the capacitors look fine?
Thanks

Hi guys i had the same thing happen to my Duo about a year ago I opened the box and the capacitors looked fine with no signs of overheating or bulging
but I went ahead and replaced c 807 capacitor anyway and the Duo has been good ever since

Thanks, where did you get the capacitors from? Looking on the net this is another alternative:
http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/330f…ctrolytic-capacitor-n89kf
Also did you remove the who cap or just cut the legs and solder?
Thank you
sorry for taking so long to reply I got the capacitor from maplins and snipped off the old one leaving as much of the legs as possible and soldered the new one to the existing legs, once the solder had cooled i was able to bend the new one to keep it from touching anything else. i put the cover back on the box and Bingo back in the game.
replace the original 16V 220uF 85 degrees celsius capacitor with a 105 degrees celsius 16V 330uF one.
I hope you get it sorted all the best
Regards, Andy
PS make sure you take note of the polarity on the old cap before you replace with the new one.
Thanks, tried that last night but no joy. Either I messed up or something else is wrong with the box.
Thank you for the help , now to decide what box to get ....
sorry to hear that did not work for you. Do you know anyone who has a Duo maybe you could try their power supply as this can cause some issues
Mine is all fixed ,
I have missed it
