I'm wondering if someone could point me towards setting up epg on my dm900 that I use to watch cband in the USA. I have never used any Epg before so where should I start? Thanks

CrossEPG downloader obtains EPG by two methods:
1.Signal stream for OpenTV EPG providers: Sky UK, Sky IT, Ausat 156E
2. Rytec data over the internet.
For internet methods, you are better off using EPG importer, don'tt use CrossEPG, the data is still the same.
Rytec team will only do European providers and definitely not IPTV. Someone else asked on PLI forum where the Rytec data uploader posts. The advice was that he should use webgrab++ and maintain the data.

I'm interested in this as well. Does zap2it provide a downloadable form of their guide ? If not the site would have to be scraped, probably trivial for someone who can code python.
The second and more difficult part I think is mapping the listings to actual channels to make it functional.

It has to match your installed version of Python I think. I looked up Echannelizer it looks like a type of Dreambox Edit on steroids is that about right ?

For enigma2 devices ?
First you need a source for the actual epg data that you require.
Then you need that data to be in XMLTV format.
That is then cross referenced to your channel names and satellite service reference ID's to marry the correct data with the correct TV channels.
We use epgimporter plugin on enigma2 devices.
So it is possible, but we need details of what device, and what channel and what data your trying to use.
