I've been running IPTV on my Dreambox for a couple weeks now and I seem to get a lot of freezing to the point of having to restart the whole unit, unable to change channels or do anything unless I restart the box. Anyone had any similar issues if this could be a hardware issue more than anything else.

Maybe installing this will help make things more stable -> Iptv PLayer
This installs 2 new media players (GSTreamer or ExtePlayer3) and other extensions that help with buffering.

It's important to use a good GSTreamer or ExtePlayer3 version, as otherwise you will have exactly these problems, it happens on the OpenPLi 5.0 Homebuild as well as OpenPLi 6.0 Homebuild as well as many other images.

What image are you guys using ? I'm using OpenATV and when I tried to just install the plugin my box has frozen so had to restart and it's just frozen on the startup screen so will have to flash again.
When I try to install plugin I get error messages saying plugin are unable to be installed.
Any ideas ?

Use the attached version.
Copy to usb stick > insert into receiver > follow on screen instructions
Or FTP to /tmp > blue button > plugins > ipk installer > /tmp > follow on screen instructions.
Or FTP to /tmp > run this in telnet opkg install /tmp/*.ipk
Telnet method will give you an error / idea why it didn`t install.

Okay will do that once I flash the box. So if you know is the below image okay to use in regards to stability if you know? And on another not very briefly is it possible to get the image GUI to fit on the screen so all the writing is visible by changing the setting ? When I click menu on the dreambox control I only can see part of the word on the screen so instead of PLUGINS i'll see 'GINS'.
To be fair though that particular box is on an older tv using a scart lead.

Best way is to turn off overscan from the TV menu, not dreambox.
Or look in Menu-> Setup-> System-> Extended System-> OSD settings-> OSD position

I've just installed IPTV Player and had to install binaries, do i need to do anything else to allow my IPTV stream to use IPTV Player or does it automatically recognise it?
Is it possible to record IPTV channels by the way on the dreambox ?

Hi guys, I'm having some audio issues with my IPTV. Some streams maybe 10% of them have a problem with audio stuttering, the video continues fine while the audio stops. I've checked these streams out in VLC and they're playing fine. I installed the IPTV Player ipk above. Any other ideas for how to sort this?

Sorted this in the end:
opkg install ffmpeg exteplayer3 enigma2-plugin-extensions-serviceapp reboot
Then updated my bouquet:#SERVICE 4097::0:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:0: ******* ----> #SERVICE 5002::0:1:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:
5002 corresponding to the number for exteplayer3 in serviceapp
