New virtual keyboard Plugin with windows layout

dont understand gigablues remotes have bluetooth but i will recharge my bluetooth keyboard to see if it stil works without dongle but i doubt it will because that may have nothing to do with vitrual keyboard and possibly even default virtual keyboard on openatv not all enigma2 devices have bluetooth and ven if they do it is normally for soundbars, so basicly it is down to drivers from manufacturer

That's the hardest thing to fathom. If "The other side of Windows" is all Unix. And all flavors are based on it in one form or another.
And Enigma2 is based on Linux as is Android, etc. With similar kernels. It's just hard to understand.
As far as bluetooth goes. Soundbars do seen to be the most compatible.
Another dev. of the TNAP image is sussed because his bluetooth headphones simply refuse to play nice with his umpteen receivers he purchases to review.
Answer me that. If a bluetooth "stack" can include only soundbars, serial ports, and of course HID devices like keyboards and mice.
Or all of them.
What's the big holdup? I didn't even know that my Fire TV could use a kb and mouse. But the Apple TV can.
I hit pair on the streamer and after a burp (restart). No more left, right, up, down. And no backspace or cursor move if you do screw up entering text.

Sorry but I don't need to answer you that :) but even when I bought gigablue quad uhd 4k .

i thought bluetooth enbled for most devices but sadly not

2 x Audio PiP over BT (Bluetooth) so even to use bluetooth headphones or earphones I had to use usb blutooth dongle what a dissapointment. I have since changed tv to andriod smart tv it has blutooth and I just connect to that but as you will know via hdmi cec. As for hold up enigma2 may be based on linux but it is not full linux.

P.S i remember when I did not even know virtual keyboard was available on openatv having to press all the buttons on remote control a night mare for me even though imi nto computers but not into old style texting on older phones :)

fairbird , just to inform you that on latest openatv 7.4 python version 3.12.3 new virtual keyboard does install but when you enable it and reebot gui when saving settings system goes into gui boot loop.

Can I install a virtual keyboard from the Open ATV remote control on a zgemma 9 Combo or vu duo2? I have a work computer and I can't install puty.

set a password on your box. i.e root
setup > network > password settings

get your IP address
Information > Network

type that IP address in a browser window.

Click Terminal

type the installer script command

I reinstalled VirtualKeyboard V13.1 with the command:

I'm very happy with what it allows me to do, but I have a few issues:

1) Loading the Pli EPG no longer works, and when I select "Plugin" from the menu, I get the error message:

Some plugins are not available:

Extensions/EPGSearch (cannot import name 'VKB_SEARCH_ICON' from 'Screans.VirtualKeyBoard' (/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Screens/VirtualKeyBoard.py))

And when I run the EPG search, the program gets stuck and I get 0 entries.

If I choose the standard keyboard in Pli, the EPG search finds a few entries in the list I chose in Pli's EPG sources, then freezes on one of the sources.

2) In the list of installed plugins, I can't find VirtualKeyBoard. So, I can't uninstall it. I'll have to recover one of the backups to have the EPG of my favorites in Pli.

3) During installation, a help screen appeared indicating the keys to use. Then I couldn't find it, whether by pressing 'Info', 'Help', or 'Guide'. Pli tells me that these keys have no function. I finally figured out at the beginning of this thread that it was the blue key to change blocks.

is bluetooth avalable on your devce I know with gigablue it as present for input devices on older gigablue quad uhd 4k without bluetooth dongle but never tried it , to use headphones you had to use bt dongle. that box is retired for the moment but I may try charging my old bluetooth keyboard and try it on the gigablue quad pro. I would think it may be even available with default virtual keyboard on openatv.

So have you actually tried to connect bt keyboard to see what happens.

Enigma2 is not real android not quite plug and play.

I have usb wireless remote keyboard which use USB dongle and some keys work and the rest of keys not work, I have the key mapping of my keyboard but I don't know how to use it, can you please guide me...
