you place your picons on your external device, whether that be a usb or hddThen reboot your gui.
EPG picons you need to turn them on in the EPG settings. If black hole is like other images then just press menu button on your remote while on the EPG to get settings.
My epiconizer plugin also works with black hole. Might be of use to you.
