New PurE2 v. 6.5 to test - your feedback, please...

    Test it, if you can, please (don't restore your settings from anything older than 3 days, v. 6.2 - 6.5) and post back your findings... ;)

    EDIT: Forgot to say it clearly, perhaps: please, use only the stuff from our feeds ==> MENU > Plugins > green button > Extensions/etc.


    If at all possible, do it all from scratch, without restoring things from previous builds, given the big changes, like SSL 1.1.1, GCC 9 etc.


    Many things have to be redone so they work with all the new (security etc.) standards for streaming and so on, that's why...


    It's better not to use TS, E2iStream/E2iPlayer and similar (invasive) stuff, given they overwrite some important libs etc., at least when updating such plugins, tools etc. They can interfere with how the image is functioning and screw-up the test results, then...


    Once we have done the image properly, we can modify those to work with our system...


    When you install FNC plugins you will automatically install our modified and sometimes advanced versions of FFmpeg, ServiceApp and SubSupport, which should work well with the crucial PurE2 plugins, as well as Kodi (in stronger boxes) etc.

    Okay good stuff, what are the actual changes in 6.5 ??


    I tested the "untested Duo4k image" without restore of settings, audio works but no picture when on a FTA channel...... cant test further.

    Well, from what I hear, it seems that "vuduo4k does not work properly on ANY image after version 6.3 (atv, vix, whatever)." Vu are not very good when it comes to writing drivers (tuner in this case, it seems) etc. And relying on only 2 teams is not the best practice, one would say but OK....


    In PurE2 v. 6.5 - because of it - there is an effort to combine an older kernel etc. to get it going - but we do not have those boxes, hence your feedback is crucial to all of this done in a blind mode... ;)


    The curious thing in all this is the fact that osmio4k*/osmini4k* (which are based on the same Broadcom SDK as Duo4k) work just fine and in 64 bit mode.


    Generally speaking, PurE2 v. 6.5 gives you SSL 1.1.1 and so on - it's the bleeding edge, towards new standards for streaming, VOD etc. Such websites need it, so we're ready for it! :)

    Btw, plugins, CamDs etc. must be modified for the new SSL etc. - its a huge job for the coders...

    I have an Amiko Alien V box. Can you do something about change led color from Frontpanel? The images 6.2 (properly for my box) dont have this item in menu. The blue color is very nagging by night.

    Usually in MENU > Setup > System > Front Display Panel > sometimes something like FP Settings > ON or OFF or DIMMED etc. options...
