How can i tell which BlackHole image i`m using ?

There are 15 replies in this Thread which was already clicked 2,444 times. The last Post () by canthackit.

    If I flash BH 1.72 image bootloader to my vu will I still be able to use the vu with the present image I’m using, or will the vu need me to flash the new image to use the box.


    Also I want to save my oscam script before flashing a new image but I don’t know where it is.

    hello mate, i'd suggest do it this way.
    1: do a full image backup
    2: install duo_cfe_3.0 bootloader.
    3: install image not sure of your reasons for 1.7.2 but i would use the latest BH 1.7.4 if possible.
    4: when instructed install backup.
    5: then you're ready to go.

    Not sure how to do full image backup and where does backup go, could you explain why i need to do a backup and will the duo_cfe_3.0 bootloader work with any image.

    You should see it in the Menu, depending on what image you have!


    All you do is plug usb in, point the backup to that USB and go!


    Pretty easy i found.....Using Black Hole 1.7.4

    Never done a backup before need to know if there a tut on how to do it manually to point me in the right direction.

    i dont think thats important now, first thing is i havn't got BH installed so cannot poont you directly you've got to find the backup menu when you find that ther'll be an option to choose what files you want to backup.


    when you've done that, put the loader file on the pen (if you have any other pens inserted remove them)
    shutdown and then put the pen in the front usb port and reboot (takes seconds to install)
    shutdown remove pen format it, and put BH 1.7.4 on it.
    put pen in front usb slot and let it install, when instructed remove pen and reboot.
    just run through the install procedure.
    it'll ask you if you want to install the backup, obviously YES.
    that's it.


    i think i've covered everything but if not please just ask.

    Just went ahead and flashed the new image, went pear shaped as usually but with the help from people on here everything back to normal.
