New box, good budget

    Hi,


    I was looking to upgrade my Mutant HD2400.


    I need 2 satellite tuners (watch & record at same time) and IPTV.


    I was looking at the VU+ Duo 4K SE on WoS and I have a few questions.


    1: I have 2 satellite cables coming from my dish. I see VU+ comes with a "dual" tuner, which talks about loop through mode. Does that mean I plug the 1/2 cables into that or do I need to buy a 2nd tuner to watch on any transponder? I want to watch and record at the same time.

    2: This box is the most expensive on the site, from what I can tell. I don't care about the mini-TV. Is there another box with comparable performance for cheaper, without the mini-TV?

    3: I am getting a Samsung QE55Q700TATXXU. It's an 8K QLED. Is there any more suitable boxes for this TV? I don't think any 8K compatible boxes exist currently.

    Don't do it, if IPTV is also required.


    The best Stalker in the business (with Ministra supported) is in Zgemma H7.


    Choose the combination of tuners, plus to my mind, it's fabulously strong in all departments:


    -Sat/Terrestrial/Cable TV including Multistream (DVB-S2X)
    -IPTV

    -Streaming (esp. with PurE2's FNC plugins!)

    -Playback


    The most complete box, AFAIAC, for half or thrid of the price of Vu or DMM...

    Mr. Gorski, I have noticed your love for the H7 based on your great experience with it .. Do you allow us some information that makes this device a competitor to expensive devices like Vu + or DM and that there is no need to pay this difference in price between them?

    Is there a big difference in stability, performance, speed, bugs, and green screens?

    What I know I have written above and elsewhere!

    I do not own the very expensive new Vu and DMM models - I have seen some of them working and I have compared them in terms of functionality with my colleagues who do have them and some of them are serious people who code for all of those machines.


    For instance, we could compare Vus with the DVB-S2X tuner, with H7 ==> and we saw that in H7 it works better. The only difference - Vu (sometimes) have problems writing proper drivers... For instance, with DVB-S2X tuners here mentioned. They also ignore reports, most of the time... Not just common users but also serious partner teams reports!


    PowerVu channels, for instance, did not work well enough or at all, for quite a while. No such problems with H7, for instance...


    And so on and on....

    Some additional questions as I am On my way to buy a new Box

    1- Does the hardware RAM (1 or 2 GB RAM), for example, make a noticeable advantage?

    2- is the type of processor speed has an effect on performance between (Broadcom and Hi-Silicon) that makes a noticeable advantage?

    3- The toner type. Is there a variation?

    4- Should I wait for H10, a little bit, or go to H7

    Note: There are some sites offering H10 for sale, so what does it mean to sell without finishing the Enigma and Android software ?!

    H10 is not yet available. No one knows anything about it - it is not yet out! How will Android perform - no one knows...


    In my experience H7 is more than enough for all my needs, Enigma2 & HW-wise!

    Listen here: I said H7!!!! You do NOT have it!!! I do! And I have both H9S and H7!!!


    Where did I say "buy H9S"?!? WHERE?!?!?


    One can not compare H7 and H9S, this is NOT "like for like" comparison!!


    H7 has 4GB ROM, native multiboot with 4 images, 1GB RAM, HDD, 3 tuners and so on and on and on....

    I'm now looking at the AX HD61.

    Its quad core 1.6Ghz with 2GB RAM.

    The VU+ duo 4K is 4x1.5Ghz, so slightly slower. Probably not noticeable tbh.

    I think you're paying for the mini lcd on the front though.

    Also I am upgrading from a Mutant HD2400 and I just found out Mutant have rebranded to AX so I'd be sticking with the same brand really.


    So unless someone knows of a reason for paying an extra £200 for the VU+ I think the AX is a good option.

    Zgemma H7/AX51/Mut@nt51 are the same OEM boxes from the same team... They are the best right now...

    I don't have 61, so can't tell - but generally speaking, Vu can only look at these guys with envy... :)

    H7 does have gigabit net and usb3...
