    Yes dreambox is an absolute pain to code for because of the closed code and lack of threading - The only reason my plugins work on dreamboxes is because my old buddy "Seagen", was a dreambox expert and thoroughly tested everything for me and changed the code where necessary. Unfortunately he no longer active on forums.

    If you are reporting a bug. (There maybe a bug). Then when you get a crash, you post your crash log (removing any domains, usernames & passwords)
    Then I look at it, and fix it if there is an issue.

    Don't think the world revolves around dreamboxes. Any oe-alliance plugins that work dreamboxes is an absolute bonus for you. Not a given.
    You can always use the gutemine virus plugins if you want.

    And the only reason this new code will crash. Is if your provider is bringing back a stream with no container_extension.
    Which might happen if your provider adds in dummy title markers that doesn't actually have a stream. Thats a possibility. Bad practice from your provider though.

    I can rewrite that line to pick up that scenario.

    EPG-Import plugin has in it's sources some X-Streamity lines it allow to choose from, that's nice, but, is there a known way to edit those lines so that it loads only the EPGs for the line I want? It seams to pick them randomly and some don't even exist anymore.

    I know I should probably ask this question to the plugin coder but I have no idea how to find him and if he still operates but any potential help would be appreciated.

    The plugin coder is me as its an xstreamity thing, not an epg importer thing.
    It is me that creates those xstreamity entries.

    They only appear if your provider had satellite refs for EPG. Otherwise xstreamity uses its own code for epg.

    If they are bugging you in etc/epgimport. Just delete any references to xstreamity. sources and channels.xml files and reboot your gui.
    If they are needed they will get rebuilt again.

    I have opened the file in, File Commander Text Editor as per attached screenshot.

    Can I just edit the, 'self.mStepTimeout =50' value to say 40 and save. Or do I have to copy in all your text?

    I edited vod_categories.xml.

    It is located at /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/XStreamity/skin/fhd/default/DreamOS/vod_categories.xml


    I adjusted these two attributes:

    steptime

    startdelay

    I hope that KiddaC it will be included in the settings after all.

    Its easier to edit it in the main source then you only have to change it in one place.

    Although salee's solutions will work, there are many skin screens you would have to amend to all be consistent.

    Can you just change 1 value. Yes. Just experiment. But as I always say. Make a backup of the original in case you mess things up.


    And no I am not changing the running text speed globally. I am happy with how it is at the moment. And I am the boss

    I am using dreambox one and while watching a movie it freezes and the device locks up. I turn it on and off and after 20 minutes it locks up again. It does not work in the TV series section. I would appreciate it if you could help.

    Could you please add a filter to access the channels? I'm French, and I generally only look for French channels. The channels are usually preceded by the country code. For you, it's UK or [UK], and for me, it's [FR]. I would therefore like to be able to type [FR] into a filter (or have it saved) so that only the French channels are displayed, because currently, I have to display all the channels, which takes a little time, then I sort them, and then I have to scroll through many many screens to get to the French channels, which is very time-consuming.


    I have a few favorites, but it would be impractical and tedious to add all the channels to my favorites unless we could have multiple favorites lists.

    We have a hide/show categories and streams.

    You press menu button on categories lists. And hide/show whatever you want.

    You press menu button on inner streams lists. And hide/show whatever you want.


    These can be changed anytime and are remembered when you exit or enter the plugin.


    You can, and should be hiding everything that you have no interest in. Then your lists are clean and not full of world wide channels that you are never going to watch.



    Yellow button - unselects everything. So its quicker to add just the ones you want rather than unselecting the ones you don't want.

    What you are doing is correct.

    Yes it can be a little time consuming the first time.
    But once its done its done.

    But that is the approach I use. I go in a category. I go into the channels. I look through the list. If there is nothing of interest to me. I go back out and hide the entire category.


    You can contact your provider and ask if he can limit your lists to specific ones. Some might comply. But the industry is full of clueless idiots so probably wont.


    Your only other option is to use an online iptv editor. Which basically you still have to do the same thing of hiding and showing the channels you want.

    So you still got to put the work in.

    I don't know if it applies to your problem but with the OS image of DB I've also problems....which were solved after flashing an Openpli image.
