Do you have other example entries in oscam.server for readers other than the server used? If you do, remove everything else and leave only the reader for your server.
You need to start with basic configs and troubleshoot from there.

As someone else inexperienced with oscam i'm finding this thread very educational.
Does the ccc version need to be the same in the server file and the conf file?
Similarly should the disablecrccws need to be the same or can I disable in the conf (I think this is what Master G calls Global) if they are set in the server/reader files?
And one other what does cccwantemu do?

Any cccam values in oscam.conf are for sharing/resharing to a client. If you`re not a server there is no purpose having them there.

Majority of values in oscam.conf are for someone with a server. If you`re a proxy reader/client, everything is configured on the [reader] in oscam.server.
And one other what does cccwantemu do?
It requests softcam keys - will depend if the server can provide them ~ Softcam Keys

Ok here is an update, I did as instructed above and got it working. So I was connected to the server and while at the start I would have a lot of cards the number declined quickly so I have passed on that server and got rid. Learnt a bit as well but still more to learn.
