I have a dm500 that needs to be brought back to life with a serial null cable.
Unfortunately my PC doesn't have a serial port.
I already have a null cable and was just browsing on Ebay and wondered if someone could tell me if this would do the job for me as i'm not sure if its the right connection/adapter

Daddy Bear , you could try it ,but personally I wouldn´´t waste the few bob as it has failed more than succeeded in Image tranfer 100%...
¿don´´t you have a family member who does have a serial port????

I think you will need a 9 pin Pci Card that actually goes into PC itself.
I tried USB (although with a Duo) and no luck.
Should cost £10 on ebay so may be worth a look

i think ill leave the adapter so and just bring the box to a mates house
Something that I remember happened to me once ..
I tried to use dreamup directly from the usb on another pc and it just wouldnt work 100%.
Solution ,install dreamup + image onto the pc fully before trying it ;)
