    I just found the solution and wanted to share.

    It seams we need to force the root password to write into some file. I login with telnet and root password, inserted passwd to change root password (I have out it the same) and it solves the issue.

    Hello, thx for image, i trying install zerotier (1.4.5 and others) and can't do run. Please tell me if is possible install zerotier in this image

    Changed the title of the thread from “OpenPli 12.2 DM500HD original 2023-01-19” to “OpenPli 12.3 DM500HD original”.

    Really great job for a >10 years old device, now is running on almost latest OpenPLi.

    I installed the clone version in a DM500 Ferrari 87 but there are 2 main problems.


    1. The DVB tuner is not recognized
    How we can install properly the right drivers?

    2. The Fan speed is to high all the time (over 4000rpm) . I tried to play with fan control 2 but no changes at all. FAN is high all the time.
    Is there any fix for this?

    Ferrari Supports only Kernel 2.6 drivers, so you cannot use new images, only old 10 years images.


    You would have to replace the sim by a clone sim or A8P... then use images such as the one below, that includes all support of all Streaming protocols...

    One little Question I have - about USB drivers:

    - must install some specific drivers to recognize direct the one SSD SATA that is connected to USB port with a USB Case?

    Of course in Ext.SATA port works or in DM ONE, in computer works too.

    The SSD only blink, but it's not recognized from system when attached in USB Port.

    Disk ist: SATA III - Intenso.

    How is it powered ? Generally the problem is that the external device (HDD) doesn't get enough Amp to work, if it flashes it often shows it tries but fails to read/continue the reading process.

    About Q1:

    It"s not a HDD(if you mean not generally) a SSD - the power there is exactly in most cases like with a USB.

    Once Again here:

    In USB port with a case adapter for a SATA. The case adapter is compatible with USB V.2 - Tested and worked in computer, of course.

    The same SSD worked in EXt.port in DM with a external Power.


    The same adapter for Ext.SATA worked in my Old clone DM500 HD motherboard without any problem with a taken Power for USB from the same motherboard!


    With Original Motherboard (DM500 HD) this one don't work :)


    Q2.

    Now after try to installing a plugin EXt.player (any errors occurs some of them that is no enough place in "...lib" ???) and after pressed button for REC with "after this... option" The DM rebooted in circle - don't start really and show a 'Green Screen' than logo for 'Open Pli V12.3' and so on.


    Where i can told the receiver to boot with default settings without to lose all my stuff there???

    Because i cut the last info Line for recordered files in settings and of course try it without him and with him.

    I Cut also for some reason that appears in settings a line for "Netflix" that I found strange there.

    The rest looks fine.


    Any command shortcut that i bring box alive??

    Just reset the BIOS, you can do it easily via the menu, when the box is in Flash mode, you just go with Telnet and flash the BIOS to default parameters.


    Once this is done, then it will start booting from the Flash.


    Remove all devices (USB and HDD etc) from ports.

    I have no longer the Multiboot or the last one.

    I reflash all with new SIM.

    The Box booted, but not entirely - seems can't completed boot - telnet and ftp is ok.

    The image is Openpli V12.3 - with updated channels ...

    You have to flash the image with the sim compatible with the image, this one is for original, so you need to use the original image.


    If you want to "port the image" to another sim, generally you need to replace for the sim you want to use the SSL + driver (bcm7405.ko in driver folder) for that sim and it should work.

    yes, I know that.

    just someone to tell me how to remove the last plugin, because seems in time when "installing" this plugin have a problem for space--> in telnet - I see that only 600k is in root :)

    So i want to try FIRST:

    - just all dependencies for last installed plugin to be removed - with "grep" i don't see this plugin installed.

    But before that I see I have enough space and all running well.
