I do not understand the discussion about VU boxes but Gigablue also with reguards to FBC (full band capture) tuners broadcom chipsets will be gone no longer developed from what I have read.

Nothing to do with DEVS I was talking chipset makers who supply both FBC (full band capture) tuners broadcom chipsets for VU or Gigablue
Devs just devolope drivers for the own boxes not the chipset.

i have read that broadcom has moved onto other markets, that have more profit attached to them, IE they no longer supply the STB market...
there is also a massive worldwide chipset shortage and catchup is still ongoing from the covid downtime.
That, the prevalence of IPTV (legal or otherwise) and the fact CS has all but ended worldwide, makes it very unlikely IMO, that we will see any new high end STB's from any manufacturer any time soon.
