I have a proposal not to interfere with the original plugin files, you can add styles and icon sets and send them to the author, if he accepts them, he can add them to the plugin.
If the author agrees, I can send my modifications

That is exactly the instructions I posted on post 3.
Although I need to run some of these pngs through a png compressor. The plugin is getting a bit bulky at the moment at nearly 3mb because of all the icon sets. I can probably knock a 3rd of that.
And I can only safely add free icon sets and not illegally sourced icons for the public version. So no paid stock images, no envato, no graphicriver etc
and I know API keys are free, and you can easily change them, but best not to share screenshots of api keys.
You only get 1000 free hits a day per key. And as a single user you are using 100 in my plugin, plus more every time you change weather settings or reboot.
this is how I go about it
try to enter it manually in the plugin GUI, just type 2 letter, then save
now kill enigma, init 4
go to /etc/settings file...… the string will be generated with the api you entered, change to the desired API, save
enter it manually in apikey.txt >> /etc/enigma2/VisualWeather/apikey.txt
type init 6
after reboot you should be fine
apikey.txt will be read first when you enter a valid location, otherwise it didnt work by me either
i have a lil problem , i did everything and it doesnt update , unless i go to the settings and hit save button ☹ .. any solutions please 🙏

It only worked when I entered all the key manually on DreamOS 2.6.
In my test for DreamOS i did install the plugin. Then restarted GUI.
Now I open the api.txt file and paste my personal key into the file.
Pressed save and again restarded GUI (Enigma2)
After restart I open the plugin and all worked just fine.
But if you want to stop Enigma2 do not use the old OE 2.0 commands
Use systemctl stop enigma2 do your changes to the settings file and save.
Now use systemctl start enigma2
This is the correct commands for DreamOS
VisualWeather v1.05
New files on post 1
Fixed a potential crash for missing wind direction png data.
Also now uploaded this to my github, for any feed providers that want to include it.
Pleas can you add on plugin Ability to upgrade from it self as all source on github

Hello KiddaC !
My box got stuck at *** running weather update ***. After 10 sec power button pressed restart got stucked at the same *** running weather update *** so box will not start.
Is there a problem at updating ? Is it possible to avoid the stuck by adding a timer or something like that ? Thank you.
visualcrossing.com page down causing this ?

visualcrossing.com web page was down, that was causing my box to stuck on boot. This should not happen, so is there any way to avoid this in the future ? Thank you.
Installed this yesterday all working great, great plug in
