Also why is it not reading usb when trying to flash from boot did you format usb as fat32 first
you can also reboot via putty
init 6 – full reboot
or
killall -9 enigma2 – If your box freezes for some reasons, this will restart Enigma2 for you

It is very strange that I 'm not more able to boot from USB with a fresh image. Can you suggest a way to modify the boot sequence (USB as first)?

Sorry i do not have your reciever but there must be proper way to flash it also if trying to flash from usb remove any other usb devices connected only one for flashing

try another usb the smaller the better and is there not a special sequence for flashing your reciever perhaps reset button when powering on

maybe it is absolutely impossible to flash a new LINUX CO image, BY TELNET on my box :(

if you want to try again other method but I think you need usb mounted and initialised.
Flash ViX by command line (by Grog68). This will not create a settings backup.

Changing the USB flash with another one with 1 GB (today very rare) and FAT32 I has been able to flash the box by USB.

you got it working I did mention try other smaller usb flash drive.
