    But you are looking in the wrong folder for bmx.


    epgimport.conf is an epg import file. It is not plain text which is why you are seeing strange characters.

    That is the file which stores what you have selected in epg importer plugin. Nothing to do with any other plugins.

    Oh yeah, I know where BMX is stored, I just showed that file/folder because the epgimport log referenced it as "No such file or directory" even though it was there, I thought that might be the problem..


    Yep, I will wait for the next release, I just find it odd that I cant get it working even when I flash box back to image version & plugins versions that were working only last week.

    I have a spare box here, I'm going to troubleshoot a bit deeper tonight & report back..

    Yes m8, that is the exact format I typically use in playlist.txt, the other format was just when I was troubleshooting using alternative source for EPG within plugin..

    Yep, all that is happening & working as normal, IPTV source showing & ticked but nothing happens when I manually pull from EPG Import.

    Yep, I think so m8, since I cannot reproduce the working scenario even with the exact same setup, the most likely explanation is that the EPG has just tipped over the size manageable by my e2 box's. That's why (as a pet project), I am going to try to generate the e2 compatible EPG.dat from the raw epg.xml on some decent hardware.

    OK folks, thankyou all for your input & advice, it turns out to be a schoolboy error by me, KiddaC was indeed correct, the raw epg.xml had just crossed the threshold of what was manageable by the box with its spec & current configuration, that just happened to coincide with the unrelated issues some users were having with BMX..


    The solution for anyone experiencing this issue with massive EPG..


    My Box's:

    Zgemma H7s/H9s

    RAM 1Gb DDDR3, 256Mb Swap (Factory configured from flash memory)


    Solution:

    1.. I changed the swap to my SSD (HDD/USB would be same result) and used the max allowable size of 1Gb & set to autostart.

    2.. Full reboot.

    3.. BMX update bouquets

    4.. EPG Import from sources


    And in she flowed...

    And out of interest as KiddaC mentioned some epg's can be large if you are lucky some are malformed but for me like yourselfe I do not need a playlist with every country in the world that I will never even look at so I use iptveditor remove all unneeded countries and just select what I need also same with epg .
    In BMX yes you can select what categories or bouquets you want but it will still download providers epg rather than one that has beed edited..

    I could be wrong in saying that with reguards to epg importer I still think it has to download provider epg after that I do not know if it just assings epg to selected channels in BMX.

    epg importer will download the full epg from the url provided. (whether the original - or a streamlined version via an iptv editor)

    The selecting of streams is for the post processing.

    I have BMX version 1.16 (1.16.202240401) as shown on my box installed from the beginning of this year. I wanted to know if there is a way to update to the latest version of BMX or is it a reinstall of the version on the front page of this thread, as the ipk version I downloaded has version 1.07.20231115 in it?

    I don't know if this has been asked before but when I import my selected live channels bouquets and selected VOD bouquets they create with no issue, it's just the next morning when it has a schedule import it will only create live tv and no VOD I have to reimport them any ideas. Cheers
