OpenATV 7.3 SSH works but no FTP service running

I've just installed OpenATV 7.3 on a Zgemma Star 2S. I've set the password and I am able to SSH into the box with said password.

However I cannot ftp to the box and dreambox won't connect - I'm using a fixed IP and I know the password is correct because the ssh works.

If I go into network settings > ftp the service is not running and autostsrt is disdable, I've been gooing for hours but cannot see how I can start the service.

working here on openatv i just added ipaddress username and password

after set the pass you must restart enigma then it will be ok,

You have to assign the password yourself.

Use the remote control to go to Menu - Settings - System - Network - Set up password, save. reboot

but there is a small hook for that and there is no need to attach any password ;-)

How did you get FTP working please?

set root password using linux command

passwd

or edit pamd for ftp allowing nopassword access to ftp

or use s4aupdater plugin and choose "root login no password" which makes changes to proper file to allow no password user to access ftp server
