I have been reading around internet and there does not seem to be lot of information about any new E2 boxes coming from any of the major manufacturers. Anyone got any information about any new boxs due to come out. Please try not to break any forum rules with external links ect. Just place any new model names in here so we can all look for our selves. I'm really interested in top end boxes.

octagon sf8008 SUPREME......basically the same as the old box with a new tuner and internal m2 SSD slot.....
I doubt we will see anything top end from any manufacturers IMO..... e2 is basically dying.
None of the TV providers want us to use our hobby boxes, they sell you a subscription and a STB.....
and really the biggest issue is 99% of the hobbyists don't want to spend big money, if there was a large demand for a mega STB then it would be worth the couple of years of development and all the money that costs to bring a new STB tp the market.
My next STB will most likely be PC based.

PC based box?
I'd go for one of those embedded boards from someone like Asrock: https://www.asrock.com/mb/index.asp#Intel%20CPUCombine it with a nice HTPC style case and add some TBS PCIe tuners.
Run Kodi as a frontend, TVHeadend as the DVR backend.

But the speed on the gigablue trio pro is 15,000 dmips where as the dreambox 2 is 53,000 dmips. Thats some difference.

Compared to the vu duo 4k as mentioned above the ultimo has 4 x 1.500 cores and the duo 4k has 4 x 2.100 cores so the ultimo is slower. The dreambox 2 has 6 x cores at ?? and seems a power house.
