  • Hello community !

    I need advice here !

Strong winds in ireland made my 2nd motorise system bad again, motor runs east - but no movement west ;(

So I bough T90 wave frontier

I have some questions - because setup of LNB and finding signal is not that easy i wanted ;( maybe somebody knows better way to get at least signal on central sat with T90

I do use original bracket on the wall - on which dish sits.... I think all installed correctly

I used satlex to calculate angles and elevation...

But had no success to get signal on any sat (only 28e I found with very strong signal - naturally ;) )

So I want to have 42e to 5w or 15w positions - idea is to have 13e in the centre. But I had no luck to get signal 13e even have it in the central position...

Question is can I place 13e in the centre of dish and search signal like for ordinary sat dish ? Or this will work differently ?

How to start to get signal with T90 just for 1 sat ? maybe somebody have experience with problem like that ?

    Thanks !

    Hello my friend,

congratulations on your purchase of this magnificent antenna, which can become your worst enemy......

it is adjusted like a motorized antenna, with a straight mast,

and firmly fixed to the ground because it is still heavy....

then you install your lnb in the center as planned you look for your reference satellite, so hot bird with maximum power, then for the rest everything should be simple if your mast is straight, I will give you a tutorial in French, it will help you just translate it to help you with the installation, knowing that with the double reflector, east and west are reversed....good luck for the rest...

  • Hello Kashmir !

Thanks you for helping me !

Tell me please is that correct and possible to place LNB for 13e in the centre of arc scale 0 for example and to get HB signal right in the central position ? Or I have to do this somehow differently?

I checked manual - helpful but few things I have no elevation scale I bought Inclinometer will be delivered Tuesday ;)

May I ask you are you in Europe and what is elevation angle for your dish ?

For me 26degree going very low - actually one of support arms touching the mast...

  • Thanks Jensen for manual - they are ok for hardware... but problem actually starts when smth is not going as smooth as on paper :)

Problem here for me is how to actually start to get signal - I`m waiting for Inclinometer now that might be a problem ... I did things like with ordinary dish but did not got signal not even from strong sat positions like 19e or 13e

yes an inclinometer or digital angle finder is required. When messing about with multiple lnb's a good sat finder would also help.

All of the strong sats should be no issue, 13 - 16 - 19 - 23 - 28 east but I have no experience at all with dish type.

How any LNB's are you planning on using ?

Including a discquet switch, lnb's etc etc ....it makes for an expensive install compared to a motorised dish.

But i guess it has its advantages..... i will be following the thread with interest :tinfoil:

  • Is it clear in front of your parable,

you should know that the toroidals are set much lower than the classic parabolas....Then for the start, you take the sat that you want to put in the middle of your reception, with a T90, you can count on 40 degrees of reception in total, so if you put hot bird in the middle, you will go 5 west to 39 or 42 degrees east.....

  • Personally, I don't have a T90, but a T55, it's the same system but smaller.....Did you go for a connection with disceq 8 or 16 outputs?????Initially, for your basic satellite, put a single lnb and a single cable live, and parable very little raised on the horizon, almost straight.....

look how little the parable is with Hot bird in the center for me too.....

  • hiya ! I`m not a professional sat installer - doing this for sports ;) I like so far but sometimes it goes very tricky - like this one

you right I was sure no problem with main positions - but no success this time - so I think I will ask some advice and I need at least proper elevation measure - so far I was doing with phone app... but that`s not accurate - on paper elevation for my location 26degrees with tool I will be sure about elevation at least - lol

(with normal dish usually I get signal)

I have sat finder that works ok - digital sd and hd - bought last year

yeah I`ll be happy to have 42-39-28-23-19-16-13-9-4.8-1.9-1w-5w

I will post pics next time and hope with community help I will get solutions to problem!

Meanwhile I have another dish which provide me with some tv and no pressure... Tool arriving Tuesday - so some day next week I will get my ladder out again

  • tfrc may I ask you what is you location ? UK ? 42e is not a big loss anyway... elevation 40? Thanks you for pictures !

@kashmir : toroidals are set much lower than the classic parabolas - Thx I just need to confirm these things.

For my part I am towards Marseille in France....

Before in Haute-Savoie, Mont Blanc, but the dish is still so low on the horizon, it comes from the principle of double reflectors....

    Here, very nice discussion....

    WaveFrontier Toroidal T90 : quelles LNB ?

Edited once, last by kashmir ().

  • few things :

1 : I will get a tool and will adjust proper elevation like satlex says 26degrees for central sat which I want to be 13e HB

2 : Then I will make skew adjustment by tilting the antenna 11.9° to East which is exactly 101.9° on the scale - I know that`s the one right-left rotation

I hope I will get at least something for a start

    And will do some pictures.

  • Ah yes I`m in Ireland 40km from Dublin - Maynooth

@kashmir Merci beaucoup ! I will study the discussion you provided - pictures there very professional - I have that diseqc centauri .

tfrc you right Turksat is like 28e in Ireland plenty of tv! In Ireland only west beam is possible so few transponders - but still why not...

    Thank You for advice !

  • On the other hand, the 39 is very easy to receive....

    See you....

  • Hello

If one wants to mount more than 8 lnbs. How should the tuner configure it?

    Tuner/advanced mode

    Satellite -1 13°

    Lnb -1

    Diseqc command 1.1. ---input1

    Then for the second satellite

    Tuner/advanced mode

    Satellite -1 19°

    Lnb -1

    Diseqc command 1.1. ---input2

    For the third satellite

    Tuner/advanced mode

    Satellite -1 28°

    Lnb -1

    Diseqc command 1.1. ---input3

    And then so on....?

You right with diseqc mode that is 1.1

but you give number to LNB like 19e LNB 1 and then diseqc command input 1

then hotbird LNB 2 diseqc command input 2

then Thor LNB 3 diseqc command input 3

refers to which input your LNB is connected

p.s. in pics different numbers like ones I gave for examples....
