The plugin ghost...👻

  • A very strange thing happens to me. A plugin, regularly installed without error messages:

    1) not appears in the plugin menu;

    2) results removable (and can normally be uninstalled) with the red button of the plugin browser;

    3) don't appears in usr/lib/enigma/plugin/extensions;

    4) is declared compatible with my image (OpenSpa Last Update) and my Python version (11.2).

    I thank those who will help me solve this mystery ...🤔

    1) ZGemma H9.2H, armv7;

    2) OpenSpa 8.3 last update;

    2) Kind of installation and update: by author script. The script is as follows:

    wget -O install.sh http://smart.italysat.eu/api/install.sh && sh install.sh

    Changed the title of the thread from “The ghost plugin...👻” to “The plugin ghost...👻”.
  • try

    opkg list-installed

    This lists only packages that you have installed find name of your plugin

    then

    opkg remove package – this command removes packages (replace “package” with package name)

  • I did as you suggested. Indeed, i tried reinstalling by running the author script. I noticed that an update has been made to June 2nd, but the problem does not resolve. The plugin still does not appear in the plugin menu, but this time it reappeared in the path usr/lib/enigma2/python/extension

    Selecting the Plugin menu, now appears the following error message:

    1 plugin not available

    - Extensions/ItalySmart

    [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/media/hdd/Logs/Log Download.json'

  • It looks like really... a ghost... plugin,

  • this is caused by badly made ipk it cannot appear in plugins because it is not there,

    path usr/lib/enigma2/python/extension,

    it should be in path

    usr/lib/enigma2/python/plugins/extensions

    so either forget this plugin or contact who ever made it

  • I wrote wrong ... the plugin is actually present in the path :

    usr/lib/enigma2/python/plugins/extensions

    create in the harddisk directory Logs , and it will be there, but it will not work.

    I know... Unfortunately it doesn't get over it ...🤷🤷🤷

  • is it working ? alexa?

    I said that i saw it ... not that I used it ... and i look good at it given what it only took to make it appear ...😂😂😂 I don't want to risk ...🙌🙌🙌

  • The plugin was obviously just looking for a file that didn't exist. Hence why it was crashing and not showing.
    As mentioned just create that file structure. /media/hdd/Logs/

    then create a new file in there called LogDownload.json

    You can even add in a blank list into that json file []

    The plugin should then probably work.

    I have just downloaded the IPK for that plugin. Unfortunately most of it is compiled into .so files. So I cannot see where the error is in those files.
    I was just going to repackaged it for you. But I cant do that now.

    Typical, the guy built his italysat compiling python files into .so executables as he is paranoiac, and has a very strange behavior... I would definitely not give him any trust... you don't know what could be on these files... and if he doesn't steal your credentials (oscam ? or box access like login/user/password ) for example from your box...

  • I fully agree toysoft, they all learn their enigma2 trade by looking at others peoples works, then their own work they compile into .so files.
    Unless you are doing something 100% unique and you dont want people copying it, then I see no reason to compile files so they are not readible.
    I wont use any plugin where I cant see the source code. In fact I often do the complete opposite and post about my new tricks I have learnt.
    I want people nowadays to copy my work so I can retire :)
