local drops

    I have recently changed to fibre broadband. Since doing this I have noticed an increase in the number of active peers. Likely due to my ping etc improving.
    I have a total of 30 peers using VU duo as server with oscam/cccam.


    Now I notice that my main local drops quite a bit from my server :( Is this due to it being hammered? How many active peers is healthy & stable for vu duo and my card?


    Current Usage (ECM requests/h) : 3553
    Average Usage (ECM requests/h) : 9787

    You say your local drops do you mean a peers line is taking priorty over yours or is your card not being read at all ? Is your oscam config set to prefer local cards, tbh 30 peers seems to be quite alot for a receiver server to me perhaps you can you post your cofigs so we take a better look and try and help a little more thanks.

    Its not being read, until I restart cam. Yes, prefer local is 1.
    yeah 30 likely is too much. Hopefully the new VU when it comes out can handle 30 :)

    As an option, why dont you get yourself a oldish desktop pc and run from there? i got a dual core 4gig ram one off ebay for £22!! its like the old office flat type and have to say its an awsome unit for what i use it for and never had a issue, just an option for you to consider, and could take the strain off your box maybe??

    Certainly an option mate as I have lots of old PC components. Just reluctant to step onto the PC server minefield and have limited time atm with the little un round my feet most days.

    Trust me if i can setup a pc server up anyone can ofcourse your get all the you want of the site your not alone my friend

    Sorry I did get your PM but was a bit tied up yesterday! - you are using a fairly old version of Oscam, have you tried updating this? - sometimes if you get issues like this that become a mystery, then changing image or uninstalling and reinstalling your existing cam set up can cure it - you might not understand why it was wrong, but sometimes does the trick of fixing it. If you are worried about the amount of clients you have on your server, then maybe try to reduce these a bit - I have about half as much as you do and I get on ok - also look out for clients that take the piss.

    Already have had a client cull.
    Did try updating to later version of oscam but for some reason my locals were not connecting.
    I noticed that in some versions of oscam additional files were added to the tuxbox folder.
    Currently I just use conf, server & user files.
