Oscam automatic update

  • I'm using an OpenAtv 7.4 image on my Dm900.

Since a few weeks ago, whenever I update the image, my OScam is automatically updated to the OSCam version 2.24.07-11799-802...

I'm using the Icam version and this automatic update is a problem... I replace the Icam Bin, but after a few days, when I update, the problem starts again.

Is there any way to remove the Oscam update from the update list?

    Thanks!

  • You need to rename oscam.

    Go to: /etc/init.d

    and find e.g. softcam.oscam-trunk

    rename to e.g. softcam.oscam-icam <--- chmod 755

    Now go to: /usr/bin

And rename oscam bin file to e.g. oscam-icam <--- chmod 755 <---You update oscam by uploading a bin with the same name.

    Finally go to: /etc/tuxbox/config

Rename the oscam folder to: oscam-icam <----inside the folder are your oscam files e.g. oscam.server etc. etc.

It will no longer update itself.

  • The Icam patch is now a part of oscam, so you should not need the separate Icam version.

If the oscam emu update is causing issues, uninstall it. Alternatively, if you go in package manager, you can mark it to hold so that it doesn't update.

    Thanks!

How can I mark the package to hold?

I was unable to do that...

About Icam patch be part of Oscam: for me it only works with Icam version... I will try to understand what could be wrong on my side!

  • Thanks!

    I will try it!!

The oscam emu icam version from the ATV 7.4 plugin feed has icam for sly DE only.

So they must be building oscam without the sly UK patch.

The Oscam after update from OpenAt feed do not work for any channel... I only need to replace Bin file to fix it.

The Oscam version after update it´s: OSCam 2.24.07-11799-802 and for what i understand it´s a version only for octagon and Denys receivers.

About Icam, from years i use OscamEmu version from Juli13. Probably it´s not patched with Icam. I Will try with a diferent version

uk patch was added a while back only problem is you need to ad sky uk caid to oscam.config

  • The problem is fixed with the rename of Oscam.

The box still updated the softcam but created a new set of files (in /etc/init.d; usr/bin and etc/tuxbox/config) with the name: oscamemu. So I have 2 versions of Oscam. Icam is not changed and continues to work.

I don't find any option to exclude packages from the list of available updates. It's possible?

However, I realized that I have another problem: Icam only works in version r11718-798. Whenever I update it doesn't work.

I created a new topic for that:

    Thank you for your help

  • if you want to exclude a plugin or whatever you need to use terminal example:

    for me it would be

    Stop Plug-in auto updating

    opkg flag hold enigma2-plugin-softcams-oscam-trunk-ipv4only

    and to enable package again

    opkg flag user enigma2-plugin-softcams-oscam-trunk-ipv4only

but you need to know what oscam you have installed and I am talking from feeds

  • oscam will still update renaming a file means nothing if original install details are still in on system

    Root/var/lib/opkg/info and Root/var/lib/opkg/status file

  • Thanks, this works great to stop updates :smiling face:

But if i try to enable package again with: opkg flag hold enigma2-plugin-softcams-oscam-emu

I get: opkg_flag_cmd: Package enigma2-plugin--softcams-oscam-emu is not installed.

  • that is wrong you need to use

    opkg flag user enigma2-plugin-softcams-oscam-emu

also have a look at status file in /Root/var/lib/opkg

search for oscam and you will see the status of the files example for mines it is

    Status: install user installed

but I do not know what other things you have done before that i.e. perhaps manually copying different oscam and renaming files

just found out you can use:

    opkg info enigma2-plugin-softcams-oscam-emu

  • Thanks for the correction and for give me great an useful information!
