  • Important Announcement: Upgrade of Our openATV Forum!

    Dear Members,

We are excited to announce a major update for our openATV Forum! After over 11 years of using our current forum software (vBulletin 4.x), we are taking a big step forward by transitioning to the latest version of phpBB 3.3.12. This upgrade will bring many improvements, making our forum more modern and user-friendly.

What does this mean for you?

Data Migration: All your personal messages (PMs), posts, threads, forums, subforums, avatars, user accounts including passwords, "Thanks" ranks, titles, post counters, and attachments will be fully transferred.

Links in Posts: All links in your posts will be automatically updated to the new structure.

Download Portal: Our current download portal will be migrated to a new ULC download page.

Signature Images: Unfortunately, we cannot transfer images in signatures, but we encourage you to re-add these as needed.

When will the upgrade take place?

The upgrade will be carried out on [2024.08.23]. During this time, the forum will be temporarily unavailable. We will do our best to minimize the downtime and will keep you informed about the progress.

We are confident that this upgrade will lead to a better user experience and look forward to your feedback on the new forum software. If you have any questions or issues, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

Thank you for your patience and understanding!

    Best regards,

    The openATV Team

You won't be able to log in, but we have an information banner that will let you know how we're doing. It's simply a complex process for us, and things could go well or not. Keep your fingers crossed for all of us.

  • Look like Phpbb is the best solution?

  • phpBB is an excellent choice for our forum because it aligns perfectly with our values. Both phpBB and openATV are open-source, which ensures that we maintain control and flexibility over our platform without being tied to proprietary software. Unlike many other forum solutions that have transitioned to subscription models with recurring annual fees, phpBB remains free to use. This not only helps in managing costs but also allows access to a wide range of community-driven add-ons and customizations without the burden of additional charges. The active phpBB community also provides robust support and regular updates, ensuring that the software remains secure and up-to-date.
