Is there a way to fix high ECM time for SkyUK with stream relay settings?

  • SkyUK channels used to work fine before, but ever since almost all of them changed frequencies on 28.2E, they started to stutter quite often for 4-5 seconds.

From the log, I can see that they freeze whenever ECM time exceeds 220 or 230 ms, not sure exactly which.

SkyDE works fine with low values:

Any idea for a workaround by changing settings or adding new parameters?

  • Nope... the timing is due to the card calculation and time for network to reach you, you have to find a better peer... or get a faster internet with less latency (use ethernet via cable RJ45 and not PowerPlugs or Wifi which are much slower).

Thanks for the answer, the solution is to find a peer with better "card calculation" then, as I have a fast internet and connection is via cable RJ45, hence the fine working SkyDE.

The thing I don't get is, why did this start after frequency changes..

My sly UK local has ECM's below about 130ms, but that increases over time (over several days) up to about 300ms if i dont reboot my server.

The actual emc time is not that important, what is important is a consistent time. What you should expect to see is ecm times very similar to each other within say 10ms.

If your not seeing that, it is most likely your connected to a cache based server (like most pay servers are)

BTW there is a free version of STV HD on sly UK

And if i what sly says is true.....All the SD cards will be killed end of this month anyways :frowning face:

    Thanks for all the info.

Sadly, I can only receive 2E/2F European beams, that free version must be on UK Beam or 2G

I hope the thing about SD cards is not true, that will leave us IPTV as the only option for UK channels, which sucks big time :(

  • in this month end of sky uk icam ?

I don't know if this is a card or reader limitation, either way it clears perfectly.
