I would like to note that the serial interface on the Vu+ Solo SE V2 only works in the CFE Boot-Loader. It is then "deactivated" and no longer works (it is not possible to find this hardware device in Enigma2 and / or in Linux OS). Unfortunately, this serial port only serves as a service connector (input and output serial port).

I've been looking forward to it for a long time and made a serial port adapter - for my Vu+ Solo SE V2 on the back panel. RJ11 / RJ12 connector is used on the pack panel of the Vu+ Solo SE V2. It contains the pins for the IR sensor for the RCU. There are also included additional pins for RS-232 (there are only 3 pins for the serial port, that is, it is only for the so-called "null-modem" method of RS-232 serial communication).

However, it is only applicable when the bootloader is active. Not in the Linux system (respectively in Enigma2).

About the VU+ Solo² Sunray, at what I remember they had some protection on it, and the Security board. They were selling replacement boards.

That was the security board of the Sunray VU+ Solo²... and they swapped/added it, perhaps would be interesting to dig on this... I don't think their boxes had the Flash chip killed... if my memory is good.
