  • Even with the new version of channel using exteplayer3 , the receiver is freezing on streamrelay channels....not always but I have to switch it off...

I am trying oscam-emu to see if it makes any difference...

Or may be need to check exteplayer3 settings?

  • Problem remained even though I changed to oscam-emu...

Either some settings in image or maybe server...but why receiver should freeze?

My 8000 is Ok and have same streamrelay settings as 7020HD.

  • This week I updated the software online for this box but still with the same issue.

Could the problem be with recording paths? Is the receiver actually recording when on a streamrelay channel?

If so could it be recording in internal flash and that explains why the receiver freezes?

I have usb instead of hdd... shoud I change recording path to media/usb instead of media/hdd?

Actually today I initialised my usb but could not record anything...never tried to record with this image.

  • Still trying to solve this issue of freezing on streamrelay channels...

With openpli9star the issue persisted on my 7020HD... I even tried newenigma2 image and the same problem...freezing on streamrelay channel. Each time I have to switch off the box.

I have the newenigma image on DM800se with no problems at all...and openplistar on DM8000 with no freezing....

    So re settings are OK.

Have no clue why this is happening sometimes instantaneously whem I zap to a streamrelay channel, sometimes after a few minutes and sometimes after 30 mins. ....

Would like to know if anyone on this forum has the same issue with 7020HD version 1 and if not please let me know which image you are using.

    Thanks.

  • At the moment I have newenigma2 image on 7020... Do not know what I have to show you re drivers?

Memory info. is in the attached picture if this is what you are asking. And I attached another picture with default settings...

Actually this freezing I think has something to do with memory as I had similar issues in my earlier years when my mistake I used to record on internal flash instead of a hard drive or usb....

  • I have made a new install of openpli9star a few moments ago. Could the issue of freezing be due to the error in picture while flashing the box?

The flash continued successfully as I did take the picture while flashing.

Curiosity: How come the new installed image kept my dreambox password in its memory?

It should not keep the password (or you kept the settings to be reloaded after flashing as it is possible on new boxes),

You could also try to flash with the Bad Sectory Recovery, it could perhaps change something (check good ones and bad ones marking them to avoid using defective Flash memory sectors).

  • Thanks..

Is it necessary to untick network in dreamup when recovery of bad sectors is selected. It is taking long....

No, you don't need to untick network, its different thing.

On the menu of DreamUp/JapharFlasher, you have the option to activate, for checking the bad sectors, it will do the job while it flashes the box.

  • I did untick the network. Suppose this does not make any difference except for increasing the time to upload the image.

However, using the option to recover bad sectors caused the box to freeze now even when streaming a local station in a bouquet. Streamrelay problem was not solved either.

So I did flash it again normally without the option to check for bad sectors.

Never had such a lengthy issue without finding the cause of the problem. I am suspecting that the problem is the memory.

  • Can you check the Capacitors on the motherboard ? I had one of my DM7020HD who had problems, more and more... and there were 3 big capacitors with a hill on top... near to the black smartcard readers.
