Online Software Update Crash

    This morning I tried the online update for my openpli8star image on my original DM8000HD.


    The box keeps re booting due to software problem...


    Last time I did a software update the same issue happened and had to program all from scratch.


    Now, I have to reprogram it from scratch.


    What do you think is causing this issue?

    It depends how old is your first image you installed, if you didn't update regularly, it could create such issues, also remember that update takes space in Flash, so you need to have enough to allow it to do all the work (eg. DM800HDse/DM500HD will definitely have troubles).


    Definitely always better to do a backup of all settings (easy with DreamSet) and cam configurations, and reflash the latest image.

    Its my 8000HD.


    Could it be the procedure of how I am replacing the bcm file....?


    I remember I deleted the original bcm file in japhar image , then transferred the new one and rebooted.


    To me there is nothing wrong with this but really strange this issue...
